A kitbasher is a person that takes already made models, and mixes and matches parts to make a new model. Mackie and Knox are the masters of this around here.

It's also sort of a Star Trek tradition. That's the same way they've come up with a lot of ships on the shows. Take a nacelle here a saucer section there from a Galaxy or Constitution and you've got a Nebula or a Miranda.
