Mine's pretty simple really as well. You can switch anything that I work on of others or my own work between any version of SFC, as long as I get a mention in the credits.. and I'd like a screenshot of the conversion in the new game. Gives me lots of lovely new wallpapers that way.
If you're looking to convert the work out of SFC, contact me and ask for my permission first if it's all my work, or contact all involved in the work (including me) if it was a joint project. That simply shows common courtesy to the work of others. Then if you get the go-ahead, include all involved in your credits, and send me a screenie of the completed conversion in the new game. Again, pretty wallpaper for my desktop.
That's really all I ask.. just a simple sign that you're willing to respect the work of others that helped to get that model to you that you want to get in your game. For one, it shows others whose work that I work on that their work is being downloaded and used. And it shows me that someone is interested in the stuff that I do. Which simply encourages all involved to make more models. And how does anyone lose by that?
Similarly, if someone downloads a ship, and converts it over without notifying anyone involved, and we find out after that fact, that just kind of cheapens your work.. which makes you less likely to turn out new work.. or continue your current work. And that's a lose-lose situation for everyone involved in the long run.
