question to 3d max d00ds about model with issues

i have a model the fcx from op whose textures apparently are not showing up on 3dmax. anyone want to take a stab at this and see whats up with it? (you might want to try and open the stock fcx and see if the textures show on that one as well.

What do you mean by not showing up? Is the model black when you open it up?. If that is the case you have textures that are in a differant format, more than likely PCX. If that is the case simply resaveing them as bmp, will fix the problem.

Case in point The ISC ships from Ghost fleet dock 13's web site were that way, The ship showed up but the textures would not, because the textures got saved in a format the game or Max did not reconise for some reason, and simply opening up photoshop or painshop pro and resaveing them in bmp format fixed the peroblem.

If you dont have Photoshop or Paint shop pro send the ship and all my way And ill fix it.

nope, they are all .bmp formats (index color, 8 bit).

any other ideas? maybe someone should download and look at it?

I know the one that you're talking about.. you included it for rescaling.    The problem is that the LODs aren't textures, and when you delete all of them except the highest LOD, suddenly you get a textured ship.  

I'll send you a pic to show you..

got it.

do you know how to fix that atheorhaven ? there are a number of those older ships which i converted to sfc3 which i deleted the other textures to reduce the download size.

I do, and thought that I had fixed that in the FCX that I'd sent you.  Never type in the dark btw.. I'd meant to say that the problem was the LODs, and if you delete all the LODs except the main ship itself, then the textured one will be left, and all the non-textured ones will be gone.  

I'll resend it if you don't have it already..
