Alright FireSoul, I'm afraid I didn't get your hint....

I looked at the .MCT files and I gotta be honest with you: I don't know what I'm doing in there.

I think something needs to change in those things b/c when I stick my altered shiplist and time.gf files in the game crashes when I try to go into a campaign or skirmish. But when I put the originals back in, everything is fine....

Does this sound like a .MCT problem or something else entirely???

Thanks,

Micah

okay. I don't know why it crashes. I can't help you there.

However, you'd still want to pay attention at the top of the .MCT, because it might be of interest to you:
Quote:

Era=0

0 means this will use early. 1 would be mid. 2 would be late, and 3 would be advanced.

Ok.. I guess there's not enough info there. Hm.. where was it..

MetaAssets\ServerProfiles\SinglePlayer\Time.gf:
Quote:

[Clock/StartingDate]
BaseYear   = 2263
0         = 0
1         = 10
2         = 20
3         = 40

In here, you decide how the eras are defined.

Does this give you ideas?

Sure, I changed it to read:

[Clock/StartingDate]
BaseYear   = 2229
0         = 0
1         = 44
2         = 54
3         = 74

 So wouldn't I leave the .MCT file alone since it reads "era=0" already?

Thanks,

Micah

If you wanted to start in Early? Yes.
