AaaaarrrrrhhhhhggggGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: November 26, 2003, 04:25:05 am »
I'm losing my mind. No, I take that back. I have LOST my mind.

I just spent the last 6 hours trying to figure out why I could not get my Visual Studio.Net IDE to register the Microsoft DirectX9 dlls to registerd.

I finally had to uninstall the sdk, run a repair on the IDE, then reinstall the sdk, and then register the dlls. That in itself took nearly 2 hours....

but it was all the foraging through the copious amounts of information on the MSDN and MS KNowledge Base sites for an answer to my problem that was truly mind numbing.

and now that I've finally got this stuff installed and ready to go I'm too damn numb to actually work my way through the silly teapot tutorial...

Bah! slide bamboo under my fingernails...please!

pinata's have fingernails???

seriously, this is why .Net still kinda scares me. If some one like jerry is having a hard time with It, It would take me a factor of 10/\100 times as long to figure It out.

See?  This is what you get for using .NET.

Drop .NET and C#.  Go CORBA/Java!

No no no, Stephen, I am a complete programming moron. Don't let my troubles scare you away from doing this...I was in reality sharing with everyone my complete utter foolishness for not having detected this problem some months back.

I should've known something was amiss when I couldn't get the SFC3 scripts to compile propery in .Net IDE.
