Triggerfish & Garfish release
« on: November 25, 2003, 01:30:52 pm »
Hay guys I just released the Garfish model and added the VL and TI Bmp's that WarpOne sent me this afternoon for the Triggerfish which were missing in the .Ace zip file earlier.

I'll see about getting the Lionfish out late tonight or early morning after I recheck everything.

You know, consideirng there is a lack of Starblazers as well as Robotech models, I mean in comparison to the number of Trek stuff, maybe a pan-'Blazers-Robotech mod is in order....? Something to think about .

That would be awesome.

If I weren't so busy with my SFB project, I'd probably offer to help...

Yeah, Sort of an Anime Mod. It always has amazed me the lack of any sci-fi based anime models. StarBlazers is a perfect example of this, not to mention Capt Harlock.

It may also have to do with the way Anime is excepted as a whole though to.

In the US until RoboTech and really the 90s Anime was not considered all that popular. Even in Japan it was more of a underground thing than main stream, it was popular but not something you admitted to watching.

I wholeheartedly agree!

A mod or at least a collection of ships based on various anime series would be very cool!

I haven't seen a lot of 'em, but those I have seen, such as Robotech, Starblazers, and a few other space based one seemed to have a running design theme. Many of the capital ships have a certain look which makes them all seem to come from the same anime "universe". I theorize the trend started with Captain Harlock and Starblazers a.k.a. Battleship Yamato. All these designs, like the Yamato looking like her WWII namesake, are based on modern day warships. The most futuristic one still retain the basic design lines.
