In year 180, the Hydrans built the first of their new class of heavy battlecruisers. This was the largest and most powerful of the cruisers and in many ways it was the equal of the dreadnoughts of an earlier decade. The hull is based on a "stretched" Lord Marshal hull with an additional phaser battery amidships.
The design was a big success and spawned two other really successful designs: the Overseer Battle Carrier, and the Overmind Battle Control Ship. Hydran Admiral Hultz said, when the first ship of the Overmind-class joined his fleet, "Give me two triples of these and I'll contact you from Klinshai to arrange the victory celebration".

Coming soon!

unlike the lyrans and andromedans, the hydrans and Orion pirates seem to have some seriously poor and ugly designs. Everything from flying blue dildos to soemthing that looks like it was designed by a kindergardener, any chance we can keep to "sweentess" of the later era hydrans but still have them loook tos? Now I'm not saying that these are badly made but a grey rectangal with a red triangular front end and guns sticking out is how we all did spaceships when we were 6.

Personally, I like most of the SFB designs. They have a certain pragmatism in their designs that I find appealing. They look solid and no-nonsense. I can practically imagine the 'clang' sound they would make if I hit one with a wrench (if they weren't in space of course ). And what's wrong with a gun being essentially a box if that shape functions? Is it really that much worse than a gun that is merely, say, a cylinder?

Well, to each their own, I suppose.
