New Ship From Interstellar Machine

Here is a picture of my latest model. It is the USS Northshore, a Cypress Class Light Cruiser. It uses inspiration from the Steamrunner, Olympic, Premonition, and Sovereign Classes. Let me know what you think. Sorry about the string of links.

I'm sorry Smiley, I am no have a server available to me to host pictures and files. I am reduced to relying on SFC3files.com and the Starfleet Universe Model repository. I am in a transitional period in my life right now, but some day, all things will be made right

No Starforce, it is not a transport, it is a light cruiser. Think Intrepid class but shorter range. It is exactly the same length ( maybe a little shorter depending on your version of the game) as the intrepid class. The pod on top is able to be swapped out for mission specific duties.  It can hold a cargo bay, shuttle bay, hospital, extra weapons, labs for scientific missions, whatever.  It has 2 forward facing torpedo launchers under the hemisphere and two facing backwards on the semetrical weapon ridges in the back. The weapon ridges also have a phaser strip on the top of each. Additionally, the deflector/impulse  pod has a phaser strip on both the top and the bottom. The bottom phaser strip has a 360 degree arc. Then there are dual phaser strips on the forward hemisphere.  It is a short range cruiser with extremely fast dock time.

I hope I can get it into general fleet use soon. Thanks for the complements.

sorry but i find that the design is stupid like the most of the ship designs for Future Trek era
(TOS and TMP rulez)
but the mesh and texture are good work

A multi function starship!

Always liked those.

Nice design that harkens back to the Oberth Class, IMHO.

Well, thanks for the input guys. Starforce, I may take you up on that possibility. As far as the unique design, I understand that it could be controversial, but personally I am very content with it for my own gaming environment. I will work on getting it hosted somewhere for those who might like to use it in their games.

Thanks guys,

It was a pleasure and Honor for me  to work with him once...And I would love to again

Don't get me wrong I love working with everyone...But i feel that Intermech is the most like me when it comes to
Creating a starship

Everyone knows that I am a Huge fan of everyones work
And I hope to be as good as them

Props to Azel !!! And lets here it for all those who wish to push the boundaries and venture into the "not normal!" Star Trek is the beginning of Science Fiction, not the end.

I also appreciate those who keep us on the ground. I often think to myself, "Self, what would Starforce critique about this one?" Those phaser strips on the hemishere were added with Starforce in mind.  I have to admit, the transport comment was quite a suprise, but I can see where he would get that.

While I don't find that it fits into the style of my own mod, the model is well done and the concept has the distinction of being unique.  Well done IM.

I do have a question for the modellers, though.  Notice in the bows that the facets are readily visible and distinctly not curved.  I see this a lot, is there a technical reason for not creating perfect curves on models?

Saving polies...that's the reason. We could make them rounder/less faceted, but then the poly count would go skyhigh. I have a model I did a long time ago that is really smooth and round, but the poly count is around 15,000...way too much for the game. There is a trick to make the saucer more round looking, but it will still increase poly count.
