Maybe it is a good thing that GAW was not made. Otherwise the Andromedans might have been balanced like the Borg. They might have lost their PA panels, Displacement Device, and satellite ships. In SFC3 the Borg are not as formidable as they are on television. They don't even has shields!

You can see where this leads, pretty fireworks as panels destruct and continue to destroy the ship

I don't think it's pretty.

Who's to say the Borg drone wasn't out looking for the shield harmonic frequency to allow them to use the cutting beam thru shields??? Comeon, 2 Klingon ladies used that trick to kill the Ent-D... Either that, or he was just scouting us to find the best person to be the voice of the Borg to the humans...

One, The Enterprise's Shields, unless Worf is a lot slower than we give him credit for, were already up when the Drone transported through, The Shields didnt matter, the Borg have the ability to analyize and adapt, just they work more logically than the Vulcans, and will have a harder time dealing with something that they dont understand.

Two, that whole fight scene from Generations was poor writing.  Shield frequencies are generally known after the first few shots are fired, any Phaser/Disrupter fired from a ship has to have the exact same frequency to pass through the firing ship's shields with out damaging them.  In order to change their torpedo frequencies to match the Enemy ship's shield frequencies, you also have to match your shield frequencies to that same frequency. You can shoot through theirs, they can shoot through yours.  The so-called Polaron Torpedoes, they constantly shift their torpedo frequency after launch, the Dominion versions were able to pass through sheilds because they only changed once, they were fired so they could pass through their shields, and then they shifted to the exact shield frequency of their target.  It was only after the Federation developed shield rotating harmonics did Dominion weapons cease to be as effective. (and why the Polaron Torpedoes in SFC3 can only have a chance of shield penetration)

I completely forgot about firing through the shields. Instead of changing frequencies why don't they drop the shields for the short amount of time needed for the weapon to fire? They could do something similar to what we did with the fighters in World War I.
