Seeking new & Improved models
« on: November 17, 2003, 07:01:53 pm »
    Greetings all,

I have been off for quite awhile so please pardon me for asking if it was asked recently.  I am looking for the best place to modify the skins/models.  In particular ones of the COnstitutionTOS & TMP-STVI, Enterprise, Miranda, Excelsior class  and Enterprise B classes Furthermore making ships and making sure they have their own name and number generator.  In the meantime I hoping to find the best models for the ships fed and all..  Where or what is the best source nowadays?

Thanks

The best source these days to get different names or registries on your ships, TOS, TMP, or TNG anywhere that I know of is here.  There's lots of people floating around here that can change a registry for you without too much trouble.

Maybe the better post might be to mention what type of ship you're looking to change, what era it's in, what it'll be used for, and which game it'll be in.  Then simply ask, and someone will usually pop out of the woodwork and offer to help.

ps: Just a note, for TOS Connie style ships.. I like Lord Schtupp's ships, but Atrahasis, anduril, and TheStressPuppy all have their happy adherents.  For TMP Enterprise-style ships, p81's work is the most used and kitbashed, but I actually think I prefer WZ45's work better.  His work is what I use for my personal ingame flagship.  For Excelsior-style ships, again.. p81's work is the most widely seen and used.

But lots of choices out there, and more everyday.. that's one of the nice things about being here.  Lots of talented people willing to share their work.

I can change TOS registries pretty easily. Also, if you're looking for TOS Feds, along with most of the other races from Starfleet Battles, there's a lot on my site. Also, Atrahasis' site is a really good place for TOS Feds.

Shameless plug time - you can find my stuff at Demon Renegade Studios.

Check around in the various threads here, there are plenty of sites listed in people's signatures. It really all depends on what you're after.

Shameless advertisement - Yeah, WZ45's stuff is good!  Go over to DRS and Omega!  Lots of good ships there!  (grin).

WZ45 does (honestly) some really wicked cool stuff, and his stuff is kitbasher friendly.  He's not if you don't follow his policies about kitbashing though, after all a zombie has to live on *something* after all.  (j/king about the eating of raw living flesh part of course.  Mostly).

[testiomial] WZ is also one of the more helpful people here... he and DarkMatrix and the departed Lord Vader and Hollis J Woods were some of the earliest people to give me a hand getting going initially, and probably 95% of the work I do now would not be possible without their early guidence.  So not only is he a great modeller, he's a good guy (for a rotting sagging bag of putresent flesh held together by willpower and unspeakably evil magics [and probably horrible things done to cute furry animals as well I'd wager]).  So patronize his site, and you'll see a lot of good stuff waiting there for you. [/testimonial]

 So there ya go..

Ok joining the ranks of the shameless here, and what good company I will have too!

At the TCS site under the SFC 2 category you will find about 40 or so models and kitbashes.

My ships come with texture packs if you have paint or any picture edting program you can paste on different registries.

This is WZ45's site Demon Renegade Studios. An excellent model of the Refit-Enterprise as well as some nice Sovereign class ships and almost every Miranda Class variant.

Another shameless plug. I have, as the name implies, a range of ships, from the Earth/Romulan War era to TNG. Soon there will be more available, when I get the Lost Era page set up...already have a fleet of Rommies in the wings, thanx to Azel, our resident master designer.
