Topic: Weekly Enterprise: "North Star"

I'm surprised nobody posted this.  On the whole, it was a well-presented episode, particularly with the ending shoot-out.  However, the premise of the whole show and how these humans from the 19th Century couldn't advance their technology by one decade was extremely hokey.  Wouldn't have been simpler to make it one of those parrallel development deals from TOS?

Actually I liked the episode, But I was waiting for the Scags to actually Join in the fight with hidden advanced weapons.

all in all Pretty good Given there is no Prime Directive yet.

It was more or less implied since they were kidnapped from the 19th Century and 300 years later their tech was still from the 19th Century.

I must be missing something still Bro, Isn't one decade 10 years? Or did they just gain there freedom from the Scags approx. 10 years before the Enterprise encounters them?

According to the story, the humans rebelled against the Skags six months after they arrived at the planet, destroying the alien ship and technology.  In the years since, human technology hadn't progressed one iota.

This was probably the worst episode of the season for me.  I didn't find it the least bit interesting or entertaining.

Reed shoots T'Pol then shoots the shocked cowboy.

A very Klingon solution to the problem.  Except that the Klingon weapon wouldn't have been on stun

About the lack of technological advance.  They may have had 3 centuries but what was their population?  6000 when Enterprise finds them, how much to begin with?.  How much effort have they had to spend on anything but survival and expansion?   Retaining the tech that they did would be impressive.
