Guinan -vs- Q from the Continuim
« on: November 12, 2003, 06:48:23 pm »
Last night was the episode where Q runs into Guinan on Enterprise for the first time, in 10-Forward with Picard.

Q' almost seems afraid of Guinan, at the very least, he didn't seem to be able to use his "powers" on her.

What is it with Guinan other than she lives a very long time.  Q' stated his last dealings with Guinan was over 200 years before.

Obviously Guinan doesn't really have Q' powers or her people would not have been all but destroyed by the Borg.

If she truly had powers of Q' they would have just repelled them a couple hundred light years away, or killed them all with a thought, whatever a Q' would do.

But, yet, Q' seemed threatened by Guinan?!?!?!?!  very odd.....

Anyone know why???

It's probably explained in one of the books, but since the books aren't canon then we'll never know, I guess.

There is also an episode of Voyager where Q tells his son "We don't interfere with the borg!."  Why not?  It only makes sense if the borg are not in fact what they appear to be.

Q probably saw Sister Act 1 and 2, not to mention Ghost and decided Whoopi might wreck his ratings.

There is one episode, called 'Deja Q', where Q is made mortal by others like him and he is sent to be a human on the Enterprise. That is the only time I remember Q having an encounter with Guinan, she even stabs Q in his hand with a fork to verify his mortal existence.

Doesn't matter since Kirk could kick both their arses.
