Hurricane Class Tactical Frigate
« on: November 09, 2003, 12:22:48 am »
Ok...I'm a little embaressed ti even be posting this, I am by no means someone who should be releaseing models...even kitbashes...but this is a design I have had stuck in my head for a long time and as a long time lurker here I thought someone might get some use out of it. Happily hacked up and made from p81's Avenger class.

I know it isnt the best kitbash in the world...heck I am a mosquito among giants compared to most here, but hey...it is worth a shot

She works perfect in SFC2 and OP. Not made for SFC3 (nor likely will I until patching and and a computer upgrade take place)

and if anyone wants it  Hurricane Class

Thats a sweet little ship...quite different....

It really screams fighter or PF....but hey..thats just me...

No need to be meek.....I been tweaking stuff for a couple years and still havent finished anything I'd think of saving..much less releasing...

I was going for a "Federation Bird of Prey" concept myself (sence the other two major powers have birdy ships)

Size wise...she is acctualy a miranda torp pod and rollbar reinforced in to an independant space frame with compact warp engines and impulse engines replacing the 2 aft torpedo launching area and a bridge dome bolted on top. Combat wise try to imagine something trying to pull off the Defiant and B'rel during the TMP era but doing niether excedingly well (in my shiplist she sports 2 photon torps and 2 phasers 1s, but turns on a dime)

Never Give Up and Never Surrender!

Actaully it would make a good Automated defense drone, or assualt craft, used to weaken enemy strong holds with out a risk to life.

To enhance the BoP effect, woul you consider mounting the warp engines on the ends of the pylons?

It looks like a Starfleet version of the Romulan Whitewind.

This is INFINITELY better than what I can kitbash myself.

You clearly have some skill there.

May I suggest a project: An X-era Chandley.

Take Pataflafla's Chandley (At: http://nightsoftware.com/compictures/pataflafla/index.htm  )] and add P81's D2 Excalibur (Don Karnage may have a link to it) saucer and warp engines to it. Naturally you'll have to get Pataflafla's permission and include P81' in the readme.

Are you capable of lighting ships up?

If so, there are a bunch of models we can get to you that need lighting  to relieve the workload of Atheorhave, DarkMatirx and others to free them up for other projects they are working on.

Please advise.

I agree. I think you definitely have some skill. Please feel free to use anything I've made.
You'll need permissions from others since nothing on my site is 100% my creation, but you
have my permission to use the parts that I did make.

Uhhh....lighting and texures area bit beyond me....moving bits around is much easier for me

Right now I have very limitied time to work on such things (blame my employeer) but I intened to try to forever banish designes from my brain over the next few weeks by well kitbashign them out of me head!

Small, compact but strange. Amusing design, but I agree about the nacelles. Still, its varied from the normal design. Could be one to grow on you, with a little usage.

Wow now I have been trying to bash something like tht for months and never could get something I liked.I am useing it as an automated attack ship in size between a PF and a frigate.Something larger ships will ignore until there shields are eaten away and they become easyer prey for the larger crewed ships.I really like it and it seems to fill a hole ,at least fro me that is.Thanks
