Updates at Mackies Place!
« on: November 09, 2003, 05:20:35 am »
Ok here we go I added 6 ships to TCS tonight plus the Defiance earlier this week for 7, so if you haven't visited the site for a while now would not be a bad time to look around.

Added tonight:
Federation Light Carrier

U.S.S. Pergiune

Sentry Light Command Cruiser
Two ships in this one one with the super phasers on it the other with them removed (Pictured)

And......

The Savo Strike Carrier

The U.S.S. Davids - B (NCA)

and a K'Tinga (in Blue)
D7 Prototype (FedTech)

Don't adjust your monitors on this last one, and no it is not cloaked!
This one was made hard to see as well as detect.

SENSE OF HUMOR ALERT:

Oh look its the FASA Trek,  Andorian "Blue Fleet" on parade! "Move over Klingons, WE [The Andorians] fly the most dangerously designed starships in our galaxy!"

In FASA Trek, Andorian designed ships like the Thurfir and Northampton had their engines paired right next to each other preventing them from being jettisonned SAFELY in an emergency.  The Andorians'  best Federation ship design, at least in FASA Trek, was the Loknar Class destroyer.

Thus I often attribute many Federation ship designs with serious design issues as Andorian in origin. Another term often used is "FASA-itis"  which refers primarily the use of ship parts scaled improperly for ships of different size classes (E. g., the FASA Baker DD used Connie (sized) saucer/warp engines)  as well as to the non-canon warp engine placement.

I like the Savo best.

Thanks for sharing these.

Hello,
Yup got the mail, sent it because I remember the dark ship I made for you and thought while he likes them this way to add him to the list. The Kligon on the site is a little lighter than the one I sent and has two mod files in it one lighter than the other (think the KCA was the darker of the two).

The mirrored stuff was on hold until I could work out some details to them (I_Mudd helped me out there) so I will start on them again once I finish off a few things I am working on.

Orginal mod file yes (minus a few polys, the phase dimples as they were in the wrong places) only the textures were changed. The orginal file is by Vampire Lesate.

Atra did the TOs one.
Some one KitBashed Moonrakers FCA forthe orginal that was Eras of War site.
Vampire Lestat Kitbashed this one from P81s' FCA and I redid the tetextures from the FCA I did (with some small changes).

Ships in order
CVL by Vampire Lestat
Perquine by DarkMatrix
Sentry by Mackie
CVS (retextured Savo) by Mackie
Davids-B (retextured Davids refit) by Mackie
K'Tinga by Moonraker (except for Atras add ons to make the C7, this one has had very little changes for 3-4 years)

At Mackies TCS site the Federation is Mackies and where any orginals go. The Federation Retextures is where mine go after I bleach them white, Federation ships should not be gray! (Atras TOS ones can though)

Well this one is next

Once I work out the backwards registry. It is my first try at appling textures to a model and some how I got the top Saucer reversed. I also have a mystry Lite map that shows in the taldren mod viewer but not in Milkshape.

So going to sleep on it and hope it comes to me.
Also the Niskalaukaus Class is almost done, and since I got the Ok from DM the Llansamlet will also get finished as soon as I talk over how to fix an error on the ship with I_MUDD.

So with a little luck 3 more by this weekend.

The CVL is listed as the Federation Light Carrier
The Savo is listed as the Strike Carrier and has the new saucer rim textures (fca3 and fca3i)

GotTheRegistry fixed so that is one down the other I can not find in Milkshape so will have to look for someone else to find it for me (I suck with 3D modeling). So off to try the Niskalaukaus textures to be applied.

Doed this mean the 3 nacelle Excelsior is done?

BTW, what is her proper class name?

And does this retexture come in the standard 2 nacelle version.

I'm not on my own computer so I can't check my files.

Thanks!

Not Exactly an Excelsior, it was a retexture of the George W. Bush Carrier P81 did. I can cut the top one off but then the LODs will still show it. So its not that it can not be done but with out Max 3D it can not be done by me.

Starforce2,
Look for the word Federation it is up near the top above the Ironcross BCV. If not I will post a direct link one Mackies site is up again. It is there in the federation retexture area (as that is where I got the link for the pic from).

No no luck on the George Bush last night, was talking with I_Mudd and forgot about her and by the time I remembered MSN decided to boot us both for upgrades. So I did not get the chance to send him the file to see if Max would find the problem (could be a plug-in problem with milkshape)

Ok I got the thing worked out so the George W. Bush carrier is now the John Paul Jones and available for download as the Federation Heavy Carrier. Also in the file is 2 engine version scaled down to size of the normal Excelsior so it can be used as a BCV of CVB.

So now with the Niskalaukaus Class

You have 2 out of the 3 ships I had planned for this weekends release.

I actually never downloaded that model so I don't know at this time if I will ever go looking for it, or if I find it that it will make the list. Guess it really depends on how long we all keep playing this game.

Well why not I just assimlated anyone ship!

A retexture of P81s' older Excelsior and allo lower poly that the later ones too. It is complete (well needs a new registry, so about 30 minutes it will be done) and will be coming out soon not the ship i was expecting to finish today but it does make three at least. Three are thre possible engines textures in it for the Advanced design I use the TMP and TNG eras ones as well.

It is listed as the Excelsior Class.

or your miranda retexture, did you atler the mapping on the model at all, because I use an exsisting p81 miranda using the orignal texture from BC, and it looks fine with your textures except the black rectangles in or near the phasernodes.

Yes the orginal phaser did not line up very well so I fixed the problem by removing the polies. There was really no reason for them because the HP was in the hull.

They can be fixed also by colouring the upper left corner the colour you want the phasers to be. But you will also have to remove the phaser textures off the hull then. It is not prefect they still will not line up right wit hthe texture but it will be close.

I simply went wit hthe texture as I thought it looked better between the two and saves 18x6=108 polies saved.

How many other ships did U do this way? I'll hafta save the max files when I port the originals over to BC (er...I didn't save the sentry...I hope I don't hafta do that one) cuz BC hardpoints wont line up unless the ship is in the exact spot, exact same scale..ect when converted. Sentry's got alot of stuff to move too...sh*t.

Nothing much work has been buzy for the last few weeks so I was just finishing what was done and releasing it. There are about 8-9 ships in the works (plus Mackie has 3 more already wearing the new style of textures that have to be converted from LWO to MOD) I have 2 nearly done a Davids C retexture thay needs a phaser ring texture (have a message to atheorhaven to see if it was forgotten in the zip or has to be applied) and the Llansamlet that needs some mesh fixing then those two will be released.

Then the Mirrored stuff still needs work and much more all work dependant unfortuantly
