An Open Letter to our Community
By Ann @ Taldren, Chris @ BattleClinic, and on behalf of our moderators
and support sites.
We gamers are a passionate crowd. We work hard at playing hard, and it may
sound like a contradiction, but we take our fun?seriously! The effort we
all dedicate?as designers, authors, publishers, testers, mod-makers,
webmasters, and especially players?is time well spent when it helps build
enjoyment of the game for everyone. And when we look back over the past
few years, there has certainly been a lot of effort dedicated!
Taldren, our moderators, and our fan-supported sites are committed to this
community. We all share the same goal: To imagine, ?what if?? and through
hard work, idea sharing, camaraderie, and a spirit of fun, we turn ?what
if? into ?that was awesome!?
It?s time to return to what is best here: A chance for people to make
friends and then blow up their ships. A chance to brag about our
victories, joke about our losses, debate the merits of our tactics, and
stretch our imaginations. That?s what makes gaming fun, and we can?t lose
sight of the fun, ever. There?s enough seriousness in our ?real? worlds.
Let?s remember that we?re all gamers and that we all share a common love
of the games. Let?s forgive and move forward in good spirits, keep things
in proper context, and have some serious fun.
