The hated Tholian oppressors may run to another galaxy, but they cannot hide from the swift justice of the Seltorian Tribunal! We will chase them until they can run no further, and then we will crush the rocks under our heels and show them who their masters are now! The Tholians must answer for their crimes against our race!

Coming soon!

I got history.

The Tholians are originally from a different galaxy than our own. They fled here after their ancient empire collapsed, and the Seltorians are the ones who overthrew them in the home galaxy. The Seltorians had perviously held the position of "most trusted subject race", and were allowed operate their own shipyards and technology. They were also expected to do the bulk of the enforcement duty for The Tholian Will. The Seltorians frequently had to deal with small rebellions that would crop up throughout the home galaxy, and to this end, they were given a weapon by the Tholians called the Shield Cracker. The Shield Cracker is a weapon that damages only shields, which allows the rebellious ship to be boarded and captured with the crew and computer banks intact. This made the process of information retrieval much easier and the source of the rebellion could be pinpointed and crushed quickly and effieciently. Also, the rebellious ship(99% of them were some variation on the armed freighter) could be returned to its duties with a minimum of repairs, which was ecomonically more feasible for the Empire. One day, a Seltorian scientist stumbled across a shield cracker wave frequency that could disrupt Tholian webs. A weapon called the web breaker was created and all Seltorian ships began to be secretly refitted with the technology. By the time the Tholians discovered it and detroyed the shipyard producing it, it was too late; hundreds of ships had already received it, and the parts for thousands more were already being circulated. From there, it all went downhill for the Tholians, as their Starbases were destroyed and their empire thrown into disarray. Eventually, the Seltorians got the upper hand, and many different groups of Tholian refugee struck out into the universe, searching for a place to hide from the Seltorians. One such group arrived in the Milky Way galaxy.

After overthrowing the Tholians, the Seltorians simply took their place as the rulers of the galaxy-spanning empire. There was much discussion about what to do about the remaining Tholians. Some just wanted to let them go, but others thought that they would go into hiding and build up their strength, and someday return to reclaim the empire. The Seltorians decided to form the Seltorian Tribunal, an orginization that would seek out the rest of the Tholians and make them answer for their crimes. They constructed massive hive ships, which were basically mobile starbases and construction yards, and sent them to other galaxies, searching for the Tholians.

One hive ship arrived in our galaxy in year 182, and made first contact with the Klingons. They announced their presence and mission, and the Klingons were only too happy to point out the location of the Tholian Holdfast. Word was sent back to the home galaxy by the hive ship, the Seltorians told the Klingons that a fleet would soon arrive to wipe out the Tholian Holdfast and return the terriotry to its rightful Klingon owners. In the meantime, the Seltorians set up a colony on a convienient planet and began conducting combate operations against the Tholians. After the colony was established, the Klingons learned that the Seltorian fleet would not be arriving for another two centuries. This was highly dissapointing for the Klingons, who had anticipated a much swifter resolution to the Tholian problem.

The Seltorians found the Holdfast to be an incredibly tough nut to crack, and the Klingons proposed a series of joint operations against the Tholians. The Seltorians were only too happy to oblige. Numerous such actions were conducted, but the Tholians quickly dropped into a defensive posture, the the attacks didn't really accomplish anything.

The arrival of the ISC pacification forces in year 186 was a critical moment. The ISC insisted that the Seltorians and Tholians stop fighting immediately. When they did not, the ISC resolved to pacify the area and launched their one and only attempt to enter the Holdfast. This failed spectacularly, and it convinced the ISC that it was the Seltorians, not the Tholians, who were the source of the conflict. The ISC Echelon of Judgement (the most powerful squadron of X-ships ever aasembled) assaulted the Seltorian base, destroying it. The Seltorian refugees fled to the Klingon starbase in that sector, where they were destroyed by the Klingons. With the General War over, the Klingons did not want or need the fast-breeding Seltorians creating further economic strain on their empire. The Klingons assumed the next wave of Seltorians would not be any more technologically advanced than the first and would be no problem for the Empire.

I'll have it finished up for you in the next couple of days. (Sorry, I kind of forgot to work on that lately)

Thanks for the background info.!

This is a nice ship for TOS/SFB but what would a TMP or a TNG version look like?

What if the *gasp* Klingon calculations were wrong?

Then the Klingons are in for a nasty surprise when the Selts come back and see that not only are the Tholians still alive, but find out what the Klinks did to their brothers and sisters.
