I have an older file that requires resurrection. On one part MAX 5 does not seem to interpet the part's modifier stack correctly, resulting in some missing faces. The modifier stack is large and would be a real bummer to have to remake that part (secondary hull on the Star Empire). If someone could open the MAX 4 file and (if undamaged):
1. export the secondary hull only as a 3DS file. Im pretty sure the object loses its Modifier Stack when exported to 3ds.
2. apply a new edit mesh modifier to the stack, select all faces, and detach as new object. Delete all other objects of the model, and save as a max file.
I will email the file to any volunteers later this evening. It would be nice to save this part (everything else in the file is ok).
