That'd be me... I was working on converting it to SFC 3 as well.  It's already in SFC 2 and SFC 1, but I wanted to try and release a version that had all three, plus working DefaultLoadout and DefaultCore files for it.  But so far, there's been no bites to my post about needing a SFC 3 tester to try some of the SFC 3 conversions in game, and this was one of the ones I was wanting to test.

So I guess I'll just have to release it as is (buyer beware).  Kind of disappointed that I had no takers on that post though, even one.  (Let alone the five I was hoping for.)

Like I said, I do have one that *should* work nicely in SFC 3, and it includes the spec files.  And it should work.  I think.  Hence, I was trolling for testers.  But if you want to try it out, and see how it looks and works, I'll certainly send it out.  And if what I did was wrong, I'd appreciate you sending me back the corrections so that I can learn where I did it wrong, and can learn from that.

The space ameoba has been haunting me ever since I started modeling for this game.

I have this vision of what it should look like in SFC, but I fear it's not something I can implement into the game. It would involve an effect I've seen pulled off elsewhere in 3d game modelling called a "cartoon effect" shader, where a defineable outline is given to a model through clever poly use and textures. If applied correctly to a static 3d model, such as a SFC ship mod, it would  appear  as the beastie was morphing as it turned, and you turned around it. I haven't found a satisfactory way to pull it off yet, but as a lit model with the right textures, it colud be every bit as cool as the Doomsday Machine model with it's animated maw.

Hey, let us know when the conversion is done, we'll put it to use in the TOS TNZ mod that is underway.

Well, for the moment, I'm doing a simple conversion of Terradyhne's mesh and textures over from Armada into SFC, and adding lightmaps to get the SFC 2, and damage and the various _??.bmp files (plus specs) to get the SFC 3 version.  Maybe later on, with permission, I'll try and do more with this.. but we need something in game, and I'm currently happy with it as is.

I'm sending the link over to Nannerslug so that he can test it out in SFC 3, and if it works in there without problems, I'll post the link generally..

And the conversion process (other than the testing of it in SFC 3) is all done..

it lived off energy it was a sort of negative polarity critter. It such the energy out of everything it engulfed. Spock mentioned anti-energy IIRC.

SFC 3 version is being tweaked by Nannerslug, SFC 1 and SFC 2 versions are ready.

Want to wait until Nanner sends me back the SFC 3 version, then will release all at once for all versions.  That way, all will be happy (with luck), and I'll learn a little more about how a ship *should* be done up in the SFC 3 editors that I have...
