Pre-TOS Space Station?

After Atheorhaven posted his Space Station, I had an idea for a pre-TOS station. Still modular, but showing the way future designs will flow. What do you think? My UES Trafalgar is included as a size reference.

Thanx!! Figured it was only right to have a station to dock these pre-TOS ships I've been doing.

I'll be figuring out the armament and such, and will post when I have more figured out and some texture work done.

Are the textures going to be "pre-TOS-y", too?  You know, armored looking, bolts, etc.

It's a nice looking mesh... what's the poly count like?  Just curious.. (think mine is around 4500 right now pre-hollowing one of the spheres for the interior drydock.. (and I'll have to modify the stock FCA to make 'er TOS in order to have a ship inside if I want to stay below 5k..

u could slap a turret dorsally and ventraly on each sphere.

The textures will be along the lines of my E/R war era ships, which are based on the designs by Masao at SF Museum.

Well, after adding the laser turrents, it's coming in at almost 6500 polies....and that's without comm. antenaes and such. This might have to be a render only model.

I added the turrents the way I did in order to cut down the polies and since their firing arcs are able to overlap. I also see it as having a good compliment of anti-missile missiles and anti-ship missiles. Well able to take of itself against a squadron of Rommy ships.

Here's a pic...will start texture work tonight or tomorrow...in between football, of course.
