It's happening GOCGravy, and I need your input, too. And thank you.

So far, we have KoraH, Pelican, myself and now you ... I really need some TAG and GFL admins and a representative from Taldren/Activision.

I am e-mailing Wiz, also.

You know me, when I get my mind set on something, it happens. I already have a format worked out.

If anyone sees TAGDemon, ask the admiral if he can share an admin.

Cheers,

WaterTiger

YAWN. One of the project I was GOING to work on after the flatfile editor (in suspension still due to work volume) I was going to design a GUI program to setup Dynaverse 3 servers.

BTW, for those who may have interest in it, my flatfile editor worked great except for a few mystery bytes that threw it off on some players. I never had time to finish working with it, so it's still on hold since my free time is so limited nowdays.

Towelie,

I've heard great things about you and all I get is a yawn?

Geez ... I expected more.

And Admiral -- kind and all knowing, honorable, sir -- you seem to sit in your chair and look down on the peons these days. How about some help?

This isn't a "my" project or "me" project ... it's a "we" project.

Nanner, don't make me get up on my admirals stool and smack ya.

Would be glad to help.  However, Nuclear Wessels has a pretty comprehensive guide on the basic structure of the server kits and most of the admins that have questions do ask in the AdminGroups Email circle.  So Im not sure how much a guide like this would help.  All admins adjust their server settings differently for every campaign, depending on what they want.  With SFC3, and working with a new server kit, there will always be problems in the beginning until certain settings are figured out and played with.  I think most of us are big enough here to share any information we might have concerning the server kits, so Im not sure how much a guide would help.

But Im here if you need me.

Hail WaterTiger,

Sounds great!  I'd be happy to help out.  Too bad someone hasn't done this for mission scripting too.  Having to claw my way through the API all the time is giving me migranes.

OK, this is coming along. Standby for an update and links on a D-3 admins forum the BOTAKnights have created. I will need you all to sign in. Will be ready soon and only admins will have access. We can organize this and share ideas there.

Have you ever seen the books: Dummies Guide to ..."

This will be along those lines, with short and sweet intros and brief explanations.

I will soon form a final list of participants, then we can meet on TeamSpeak and share some ideas and get to work. With the patch -- cross your fingers -- due out in a few months, perhaps even Taldren could use this short-and-sweet info on a how-to set up a server that runs with proper settings, map sizes, etc.

Thanks for those who have ponied up. We have an interesting cast forming.
