ST: PHASE 2 Variant...Has anyone Done This ship???
« on: October 29, 2003, 09:12:08 am »
Ok I was wondering if anyone has done this EXACT ship???
It is a lower(as in height)  wider USS Enterprise...
Also Please Look at the Details closely...I know that there are a few Phase 2 variants floating
around...But not like this...not with these proportions or Details...As far as I know

And in color(kinda)

If not would someone be willing to attempt this(I can do the mesh if needed...I am sure it would have to be Tweaked
But I can do it) or just do it on there own???
Thanks Guys!!!

Hey Azel!

I've wondered about this varient too, but have never seen other than those pics.

I can think of two candidates to make it though...WillardDcker and WickedZombie are likely ones (not to put words in their mouths).

Hey, you know what, I _Mudd WOULD be the guy to do it. I've got his models and with his unique style, his rendition would be excellent I'm sure.

You reading this, I_Mudd?

You guys...

Y'know, I had several Spiderman and Godzilla comic books that had that ad on the back cover, and I never understood why it looked different from the ship in the movie. Back then, I never considered it to be a big deal, but after I glanced at this thread earlier today, it struck me that that could really be a fun mod to build.

Then I waltz into this thread tonight and hear Atolm chanting my name to build this thing. I'm flattered and accepting the challange, as it seems just non-canon enough to fit in my world.

But...

(there's always one.)

... I got to put some really sweet designs on the backburner to get to this. I might have to burn some midnight oil. I might really enjoy doing both of those things, because this ship rocks.

My next post in this thread will be a WIP shot, something I don't normally like doing, but I promise not to bite anyone's head off or get mad and run away if anyone's got any suggestions

See ya soon;

I_Mudd.

we need to get the other "phaser 2" vessel 2, the one seen in some spacedock seen. It's a rather ugly ship, but I don't believe it's ever been done.

I spent about 4 hours studying the pictures and doing drawings of her. I really wish there were different angles to look at, but this is forcing me to make "Trekeducated" guesses, which is part of the fun.

I fought to try and get the angle right, but didn't hit the mark on that.  So sleepy ...

Anyways, this is where I am so far ...

Got a little ways to go yet, but, I'm tired and need to sleep so I can go to work tomarrow.

It matches something on the ship. ALmost looks like either a large window or light. Unless it's a torpedo tube, but I wouldn't think it'd have blue or white light in it.

Hiya Mr Mudd

Just by taking a look at the posted design I'd say that probably you need to lower the sensor dome dip thingy on the bottom of the saucer a wee bit and maybe perhaps round off the engineering hull, possibly making the circumference a little bit smaller - just from looking at the pic!
But regardless of my observations I think it is a lovely mesh and is in no way a criticism! Thanks for devoting some of your sleep time to this!

Would be good to see some of those pictures of the phase 2 model in construction.  in the book star trek phase 2 and star trek new worlds would be helpful.

Excellent start, I_Mudd! Azel, myself and others certainly appreciate you putting in the time for this ship so soon!

Get some sleep, and look at her with a fresh set of eyes later.

And Azel, where'd you get that topmost picture of the Constitution Class - Phase II ?

Actually, not meaning to take away from this, but I think the proportions in the pics and the covers are the same, just seen at different angles. But, it's all in the perception, and the thought of a "shorter" Connie variant is interesting. Great job so far I_MUDD!!

Yeah it is interesting for a connie to be shorter in hieght
...I have looked at every Connie Toy / model replica, and mesh...none get that perspective...so yeah the ship is smaller

Thanks, Azel!

It really struck me as being a page from Starfleet Museum that I had never seen before. It would certainly fit the site's design scheme.

Did some more Digging...Found these:
I do not know how acurate these pics (seeing as the time period in which these versions of the Enterprise were involved in was like a dime a dozen...lol )are to the Very first ones I posted but its something to help

That Last image is from the Book "Ships of the Starfleet" if I am not mistaken...And is more of a Hybridized design of the TMP connie and our Phase 2 Connie
