This may sound n00b, but what are these "Nuclear Wessels" scripts of which you speak?

Go there... read the thread... download the scripts and play them. Things have gotten to be a bit more fun. Nuclear Wessels has been working on additional scenarios that can be played in campaign mode or even on line. Not difficult to understand and very fun to play. Playable missions has doubled to around 110 or so when mixed in with the original scripts. Highly recommended! Go directly for the mega-pack... do not pass go... do not collect $200.

That would be a highly welcome feature to your key models. And an under-rated feature. I get a big kick out of playing some of Nuclear Wessels scripts for campaign play and the number of models involved can get to be a load on the video bandwidth. If you could accomplish that it would make certain scenarios play much more smoothly.

Since we are  on the subject of perfecting some of your creations I want to bring up cloak testing your Romulan models. Perhaps it is just my set up but some of the Romulan models I really enjoy playing of yours sometimes don't cloak quite right. If I remember, the N'Neikha goes white immediately upon engaging the cloak. I know this used to a standard check at one time but seems to have been forgotten about... You have to understand that sometimes I'm more sentimental (or perhaps I'm just mental  ) about some of your models than you are. And I think I noticed that the damage textures were a little sub-par for one of the all time great SFC models. Am I complaining?... by no means... the only reason I bring it up is some of those models are too good not to point the nit-picky stuff out. And the N'Neikha was one of them.

I have to say I'm really jazzed about the state of SFC right now. With the models that have been archived from the past and the new little jewels that are being created at present we are closer to the best SFC that we have ever had. Especialy when you consider what OP+ refit and Nuclear Wessels scripts have given us. That and Klingon Fanatic seems about ready to release his FASA archive. IMHO I think it is better now than it has ever been before.

Hmmm the damage textures are not a part of a model, they are given to the model by the game. The turning white at cloaking issue could be a video card question.....I don't recall having that problem myself. There are a number of issues involving video card setups.

Extra bonus points for that "The Corbomite Maneuver" title screen.  It looks so real.

No one does TOS ships like you, Atra.  Beautiful, simply beautiful.  (Agh, now I have to decide which to use - these, or Lord_Schtupp's...)

Really? Of course I tend to think you know this. What is the purpose of damage texture maps that are included with so many models? The break models? Ah... maybe that's it. Perrhap that is what I remembered. If that is so then I am as likely to have shrunk those myself... Rosann Rosanna Danna says, "Never mind."

Why not use both? There are a lot of Heavy Cruiser slots in the shiplist that need to be filled.

Just wanted to say awesome work Atra, nice to see your site back up too...

As far as model usage goes, you would probably find Atras models a little more game friendly as they generally have fewer polys....

Gave this thread a well deserved 5 star for what its worth

Hey... It be Lord Schtupp. Ya have to love big A's starships. And with the new LOD features it will make for some fun fleet combat.

Please forgive me but I have been meaning to ask you, when the opportunity presented itself, about that Akula you were colaberating with DTW on. Will that ever see the light of day or should that be forgotten about?

Lord Shtupp's ships are different enough from mine in imaginative detail that you can easily use them as special variants.....like the shuttle bay on his Ptolemy....stroke of genius. I also of course haven't made a DN yet, and don't really plan to in the near future because I have enough Heavy Cruiser projects to last me for a while.

You are so right. The shuttle bay was brilliant as is some of the interesting structure options on the destroyers. Although I have to say I was really happy when you released the Keppler. The Federation so needed a refit model for their refit specs.

Take your time with your model agenda. This has to be a labor of love and we don't want to see you burn out and go away again. Better a few beutifuly crafted models and you having fun with SFC than many times that number with no Atrahasis. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that.

That's understandable. I'm sure it got to be pretty discouraging. That's why a lot of us ought to think twice before they post something that could be a petty quip. I like it the way it is right now. By and large people are trying to be encouraging and the level of civility has been pretty good. Glad you feel good enough about the state of things to offer your models up again. To be sure I use the almost every one of them. With the new pooter and 19" monitor SFC has never looked so good. Some of that has to do with your work.

Yes , I had to quit for while due to life/medical reasons but I will try to pick up my unfinished projects as health allows. Thanks to all for the kind words and emails.

Atrahasis, I saw those and recorded them for use as wallpaper. They are really good and sometimes you have to change your desk top for the sake of variety.

Lord Schtupp, I'm sorry but I was unaware that you were in poor health. Of course your health comes first. Do the Akula if you are up to it as it would be a first rate addition to your other offerings. Don't concern yourself with it otherwiise. I am really happy with what I already use of yours. Please check in with us from time to time as life permits.

Lord Schtupp,

I don't know if you've seen any of my TOS/SFB models yet, but I wanted to tell you that your work was the major inspiration for how my Feds look, and seeing your USS Star League and Saladin class variants is what really made me wanna make my own mod and finally do it. So I just wanted say thanks.
