This is taking forever and I could have meshed 10 ships in the time it is taking for the textures. Actually tired of looking at it.
So now you guys can look at it for awhile

I concur with Mudd...more please! I also agree with you...Jim?...texturing takes forever, but it's worth it when it looks right. That's a very good job on the BigE.

I know what you mean the Miranda I retured took 2 weeks of 2 hours a day work plus a week end of about 14 hours to do it. I could have added more and more details but it came down to a point of will it work if released now or does it really need more work. Depending on the details texturing can take a long time to do, the more you add tthe longer it takes. Sad part is textures can make or break a model. I ok looking model with great textures still looks good, the best model in the world with bad textures still looks bad.

I'd say I will have spent that much time on this when its done.  Nice job on that Miranda btw.

HeDeadJim is my TOS handle,  Like that catch phrase only wouldn't work with apostrophe s.  I also go by James Formo.

Swapped out the pic, but I still have my usual hosting bandwidth issues so if the pic link is broke, try it the next day.

I still have a lot of little items left. I can't decide between a copper theme or brass for the deflector. Both are shown partially done. Then there  are the impulse engines, shuttle bay and saucer bottom. Note the saucer edge will not have that many windows, its just the way its mapped at the moment.

Thanks to Sandman  I now have better fonts, only am not satisfied with how rough PSP makes them. So may try Photo Draw or whatever they have at school.

Before this ship, most of my texturing (if you could call it texturing-more like finger painting with software   )was trial and error, but  I am  just now starting to develope a method or system.

One way to do registries is the old make them at 3 times the size and then shrink them down.
Also when in doubt go wit the dark colour you can always add to the light maps to lighten them up.
