SFC3 Music Mod
« on: October 16, 2003, 11:12:41 am »
Release is imminent..      Stay tuned..

Here's the readme..

This file will detect where SFC3 is on your hard drive and will place some new mp3 files into assets/sound of your game directory.

What this mod does:

1. The ambient music will now be the theme from Deep Space Nine (Rock version).

2. The Federation main music in game is now the TNG TV Theme.

3. Occasionally in Federation Battles you will hear the 1st Contact com chatter.

4. The Klingon Main music and battle music is now the Klingon Imperial Theme!

Installation:

The first thing you should is back up the file;
(Your game directory)/assets/SFCMusic.zip.

You'll need Winzip here to add the new audio.

Open Winzip, and browse to:

(Your Game Directory)/assets/sound and open SFCMusic.zip.

Open Windows Explorer and browse to (Your game directory)assets/sound.

Drag and then add the mp3 files you see in assets/sound into
Winzip, making sure Winzip is set to no compression. IF YOU USE ANY OPTION EXCEPT 'STORE' IN WINZIP YOU WILL LOSE ALL THE MUSIC IN THE ENTIRE GAME!' Be careful.

That'll do it! - fire up the game and have fun.

Credit for getting this to work goes to Towelie on the Taldren Forums. Lotsa people are going to be happy. I predict many SFC3 Music Mods coming our way, lol.

Truly great news Chris Jones!

Too bad OP Music files haven't been cracked yet.

Now to get somebody to convert the SFC1 files for a TMP music mod...

Qapla!

SFC3 Music Mod RELEASED!

I plan to add it to SFC3 Files. They were giving me errors a little while ago.

KF I was looking at the OP Music files today. From what I saw there are a lot of very small files, and in wav format. There is an sfcmusic.txt for that. It looks like a lot of configuring would have to go into an OP Music Mod.
I will run some tests.

The SFC1 music was in a strange format if I recall. I don't have it installed right now.

Chris Jones,

Thanks for all your efforts and thank you for looking into the OP files. Right now I'd settle for having the SFC1 music posted on SFU but each time I d/l from File Planet it says "you are forbidden to access this page".

Do I have to do everything?

BTW, I replaced fed04_ambient (main fed theme) with ST II intro. Klingon imperial theme also used, it rules (btw, there are a few versions of that one out).

For thr SFCII/OP files you just need to join the right ones within each set to get full songs. ( this would be very easy with a program that could join multiple files at once) otherwise there will be a lot of *insert file* with Sound Recorder

I was also wondering when in the corse of a game does each file get played?

Fda - Fed attack
Fds - Fed ??? Being attacked by
Fdt - Fed Theme Start of a battle
ASB- Asteroid Belt
HYP - ???
SRS - ???
SPA - ???
DPS - Open space no fighting
NEB - Nebula ?
EAW - Instalation screen
Sma - attacking a monster

The SFC music files are in *.i4x format so I have no idea how to go about using those.
