Hi all.

I do not have the Dynaverse server but was wondering if it is like a editor where you can modity the Dynaverse server settings?

If it is not I was thinking of trying to learn Visual basic and at the same time creating a Dynaverse Editor.  This would be based on NuclearWessels SFCX.net Dynverse settings document.  That is of course if he will allow me to use the information he has given in the document.

just wondering!

thanks,

Obmanta

Absolutely!  I know lots of us would LOVE to have such an editor -- I keep meaning to tackle something like that myself, but never seem to have the time.

It might be useful to kick around with a few of the server admins, I'm sure they've spotted lots of glitches in the settings document and they'll also have great ideas on what features would be useful in the edtior.

Thanks NW.  My plan as I stated before was to use the info you created and learn Visual Basic as I go.  Mind you I am not talking weeks here to create it.  But surely months.  I definatly would love the server admins input and would want the admins to test the various functions that would be implemented.

Another idea I have was the ability to either have the program to have a big bang (dynaverse creation) or to modify just parts of the Dynaverse.

Another idea I was just thinking about was to allow the software to setup Races allowed, missions included in the dynaverse.  Try to make the editor as versitile as possible.

Believe me any Ideas would be welcome.

thanks ,

The server kit has many setting files that you can tweak.  It's not really an editor.  If you want to learn visual basic and write an app that sets up those files, that would be a great idea.  Go for it.

You might want to go download the latest server kit and look at the setting files.  They are just text files.   They have .gf on the end of them.
