Here's a weapons harpoint chart to help you out:

And here's the dl link:

You can use any SSD. This ship would make an interesting Monster because it could very well be an assimilated alien ship, so even if you don't have Borg in your game you can get away with having this.

I like this Atra - TOS Borg perhaps - your usual high quality work is evident.

I did that ship a while back but it wasn't as good as this one being that it was one of my first ships and I still didn't know much about modeling at that point.  I had planned and still plan to update it.  That is a nice job.  Good work!  This is mine.  As you can see it needs some work.  Well anyway, good job!

Sweet looking Borg!

I always wondered why they didn't use this ship more than the cube. It's much more interesting visually. Oh well...

Now we can see her all the time!

And thanks again for the Bonhomme Richard.

Any plans to make more Constitution variants from "Ships of the Star Fleet Volume One?"

Atra. Exceptional work. I have a request though. Can I convert this to Armada 2 SOD format with your approval, as the stock Armada2 version is pathetic?? Also whats its poly count??

Yeah, the assymetry is interesting, isn't it? But the Breen like to use those half-ring shapes, whereas this ship uses blocks. Also, weren't the Borg and the Breen from different quadrants? Hmmm did the Breen have distant cousins?

Come to the General Forum Discusison and support a patch that will include the L and R arcs!

http://208.57.228.4/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB1&Number=188547&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

I do beleive we can have a revolutionary new game if these arcs are added, as they should have been from the start.

Thanks muchly. Credit will be given as necessary (and the models just over 2060 polys which is absolutely ideal for my project).

Breen and Borg are Beta Quadrant (along with Klinks and Roms)...

The Borg are on opposing sides of the Quadrant though...

A Breen explorer (CA+ or better) would in all probability be in a position for assimilation...

This all assumes I recall 'canon' correctly...

Hehe...

Borg space spans much of the Delta Quadrant and a good chunk of the Beta Quadrant...

There is no red line in space for which quadrant you occupy...

Yeah, I seemed to recall they were different quadrants. But why is it that the Breen didn't seem to be worrying about the Borg in the episodes? Could it be that it was because of the Borg that they sided up with the Dominion? Moreover, could the Dominion kick the Borg? Hmmmm.

Hey Atra, about the firing arc diagrams of the Connie you have. The only problem with it is, the side phasers on the saucer DO have 180 degree firing arcs. Have you seen the Fed New-Jersay class heavy battlecruiser? Ever wondered why the nacelles are lowered on that thing? It's so that they aren't in the way anymore and the phasers have full unresticted 180 coverage on the sides. All the phaser hardpoints theoretically have 360 degree firing arcs, the only restriction on that is if they are physically blocked by a portion of the ship. So for this reason, the front phasers on a Fed CA are FH arc, the side phasers are L+LF and R+RF arcs(LS and RS on the BCH), and the ones on the rear hull are 360 degrees(because they are on the very bottom and not blocked by anything).

up to the point of the dominion war only ones who take on the borg are 8472 all otehr races can not take the borg on

its said in one of the show that the breen, sonia and dominion are all on the same side
when it was said about the romulans not beening in the war it said that they busy with borg on they boaders in the beta quadrant this is why you think they from the beta quadrant

it is said in unimatrix-zero that the beta quadrant has small borg outpost there
it was that guy 7of 9 fell for in that show
that says about the borg in that quadrant

up to the point of the dominion wars very little is know about the breen and when you think about it it onlly took fedeartin few weeks to work out they weapons it would take the borg even less time

Yes, I'm aware of the assumptions that Starfleet Battles made regarding the firing arcs of Federation phasers. Those assumptions are questionable at best, in my opinion, especially for a 2-dimensional game like SFB/SFC, because of the fact that if the forward saucer phasers for example really can fire at a 180 angle on a 2-dimensional plane, it would have to be at a significant elevation along the Y-axis, which would translate into thousands of kilometers along the vertical Y-axis by the time the beam reaches its target......which makes it no longer a 2-dimensional game. However, if you examine the actual ships, the maximum angle at which those ball turrets can shoot without elevating along the Y-axis is about 60 degrees to either side, so a total arc of 120 degrees.....also known as the FWD arc. Same goes for the side phasers. Since there aren't any 120 degree arcs to the sides in this game, I would settle for the L and R arcs which are acceptable.

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you mean by this. Why would the beam have to elevate along the Y-Axis when firing at those angles? (If you want to make another diagram to explain this, feel free )

A beam can only aim where it is directed, thus the directing element is the limiting factor...
