How to mod the music in SFC3
« on: October 12, 2003, 04:28:10 pm »
Just heard about this on the live Radio program...

I was wondering, wouldn't it be easy enough just to record the same format (MP3?), zip it like it is in the game, and then put it back in?

Haven't tried it myself...just wondering.  What problems have they been having?

Hi Dash  - thanks for tuning in tonight.

Game crashes. We have tried using a file with the exact same name as one of the files and puttting it into the SFCMusic.zip file. Crash.

Each of the music files has a watermark associated with it, which identifies the creator of the file or artist. The game must recognize that and look for it. If it can't find it, it crashes.

I had a program that read the watermark, but after a few tries at editing it, gave up.

Ah, I see, yeah I could understand why that might be a problem. Hmmm.
