Well this is just a bash of the SFC3 Warbird.  Thought it might do as the Melak looks very similar. I just made the nexk wider redid the back. The nacles could be wider, then the head brought back a bit.

KF if you want I can send it to you and you could tweak the textures how you want.  The mesh is just over 1000 polygons.

wasn't the melak ahlf the size? if so you need to kill some of those windows and the extra detail crap on the nose, otherwise it still looks like a giant D class variant.

It is truly awesome to see another modeller taking on this ship.

This appears to me to be THE most difficult Paramount approved design to ever make for SFC; otherwise this ship would have been made years ago...

I say the more the merrier. It would be nice to have a few Melak warbirds by lots of folks around.

I have only three comments:

1. The size range: stock KCA (use Atrahasis'/Moonraker/WZ45's K'T' inga)-400m (tops)
2. The D'deridex engines have to go; nobody has made a set that is dead on
3. The 'head' needs some tweaking to look more like the Melak

Hey, up the poly count if you can/want to. The goal is to get an accurate, HIGH POLY Melak for the game. If we can play with 3000 poly, uber detailed Sovereigns, a Melak the same quality will be fine. Besides, somebody in the SFC community can help you reduce polies if needed.

OK don't laugh, but the Nacels from my Raven actually look pretty close shape wise to the Melak engines. I think I can modify them for this ship. As long as I don't creat huge holes when I remove its stock ones. Think the head can be fixed mostly with textures, perhaps its too large.

Anyway my heart is not really into this ship as TMP is my least favorite era. Yea I know Blasphemy, but I never saw 1 movie in theater and didn't like a single one on tv. Thought they were all too black and white. The lines between good and evil.l were too clear, kinda like batman and robin. PLus I didn't even like the wrath of Kahn. But I digress.

It didn't take me long too get this far. So I intend to start all over. I will import the break right on top of the original and bash both at the same time. That way I won't have to do a new break model.

I'll be out of town for a week. So no updates, but do not worry its not the Melak curse

Well that is good progress news.

If it helps, think of the Melak as being the equivalant of the Federation Ambassador and that the time period is really not that far from EARLY TNG.
