Fighter firing delays are non-existant for DisF, PhoF, and HellF. Fighters can fire these weapons immediately upon launch. Additionally, the reload period is very short, about 1 or 2 seconds.
The good news is that FusF is fixed somewhat (though it still reloads infinitely). It can fire after about 1/4 turn as expected. Missiles work ok (1/2 turn delay).
Did the beta-testers get a shot at 2.5.5.0? It doesn't seem so.
EAW handles these features well. It's too bad OP doesn't.
