I was sent a pic of this ship, and knew I had to model it.

Well, a few days ago no Fed Chicago Class NCA existed in the community, and now there's two!(yours and mine) I see you decided to make yours smaller and flatter, on mine I tried to make it appear that this ship has nearly equivalent mass of the Constitution class, since that is the ship its intended to replace. I like it though, it's very nice! I especially like your take on the top of the saucer. Great job!

Is this a TOS Version of Moonraker's FNCA USS Chicago? At any rate, really nice!

Wonderful job A.

Ever since Ghost did his version of this ship I've wanted to redo it a bit and add those curves to the upper superstructure.  The mini was rough and straight edged like the other versions I've seen but that's a fault of the mold and it being made as cheaply as possible.  The smooth curves make so much more sense.

Hey Atra, Incredible job! Thanks so much for getting this done. I like the way that you rounded the edges of the saucers upper decks too. Really nice detailing all over this baby.

Are you still thinking about doing the USS Houston, sometime, please?

Excellent work, Atrahasis!

Your TOS ships are quite the lookers.

And I'm curious to know about the U.S.S. Houston myself.

And BTW, is the Bohomme Richard still in the works?

Great ship and the backstory is plausible.

I can't wait to see your revised Napoleon carrier as the Chicago would make a great escort for her.

"Ahead three quarters impulse."
"Uh, we don't have impulse engines, sir."
"What?  Are you sure?  Then what are those red thingys on the back?"
"Dunno sir.  Thought they were photon tubes."
"What about those white things between the nacelles then?"
"Thought those were the hanger doors."
"Huh.  You sure those red things aren't engines?"
"Aw jeez I'm confused...."

Just kidding....  GREAT design!  But......  are those red things the impulse engines?

Well, the NCA doesn't have rear firing photons, definately not 8 tubes! So, impulse engines is a pretty safe bet.

Man, even if that thing did have 8 photons, it would probably rip itself in half with shock firing them all at the same time!

Wow. Fantastic, Atra. Between you and Desty Nova, I'm in SFB heaven right now.

Yeah, those eight circles at the back are the impulse engines, same as on the Achernar and other SotSF designs for later-era TOS ships.

The background story is also more or less the SFB literature.

The Mars was never actually built........although I think if it were it'd pretty much be the Dreadnought from that novel.

Maybe so, but if you gave it that extra "Atrahasis Style" it could be something else all together! I'd like to see your spin on a TOS/SFB dreadnaught.

I did do a TOS DN-style carrier once way back, I'm gonna have to dig it up again now. Some other people have been aking for it....the Frederick the Great (whoever he was).
