Anyone know who made this, and is there a SFC3 version?  This ship is so sweet!

Looks like a couple of peoples work messed together.

The hull aztec looks like WZs', the Light blue windows of P81 the Engines like WZ again along with the windows above the shuttle bay. The Deflector is the only thing you can go on to try to find out who did it. I have seen that deflector before but can not remember who did it. BTW both WZ and P81 have SFC 3 versions of the Sovereign.

Do you have a pick of the Deflector? (close up or the actually texture picture)
Could be Red Dragons version

I think the Deflector dish is from WZs Sovereign Class Prototype.  I do have other Sovereign Class ships for SFC3, but I want this one to be added to my collection.  I will try and find a new pic of the Dish.

It looks over all like WZs' textures... and the deflector is his.

The only thing is he doesn't do the windows in solid light blue like that, that is something P81 use to do. I do think think atheorhaven might be the person to ask though he did work on some of those Sovereigens taht are floating about.

Engine colours look alot like Moonrakers blue, or LBs' I wounder if it is a retextured version of one of theirs?
If you have a gamespy ID you can get moons from the Omega shipyards. I don't know if LBs is posted anywhere

If it is LBs' or moons then no SFC 3 version exists.

Heh, you guys aren't even in the ballpark on these guesses. That's CG's Nemesis Edition Sovereign recently released for Bridge Commander. I wouldn't count on ever getting a SFC version though. Besides, the polygon count is way up there, even by BC standards.

I was drooling all over that model while it was in a very long WIP stage over at BCU, I can't believe that so few have seen it! Even if I could my hands on the texture files alone I would be over the moon; there's so much that I can learn from them!

The ship looks like the movie, and flies like a dream. It does lag my BC a bit if too much is going on in the game, but it sure is  a joy to look at. The hardpoints are simply awesome, Phasers from all arcs possible, and the ability to fire photons and quantums at the same time.

Just download it and extract the files. You will also have to install the Bridge Commander Mod Packager, and tell it to extract to a custom directory, the the ship comes in BCMOD format.

I've been doing a lot of BC recently, and that is the most awesome ship ever to grace that game IMO.

I'm not real familiar with poly counts. At 5,500 polys, how does that compare to the average stock model?

Average stock model for SFC is under 1000 polys

The high end ones are generally under 3500 polys.

most stock models are 800-1500 polys

most fan models are 2000-4000 polys

this one at 5500 polys is big but not that big alot of p81 models are this high

So a model of this size is cumbersome, but technically feasible to use in SFC, granted folks have high-end machines, or at least a decent graphics card and plenty of RAM....

I can speak with him and ask him if it is ok, but the textures and mesh will have to be greatly reduced, because the model is a total of 13,000 polys. I think it would make SFC choke.

Cool deal!

Heck even if the model doesn't work the textures can be used on other sovereigns and adapted if need be.

The regsitry is backwards.....what happen to the uber detailed textures? The colours are different on this one too! Is this ChroncidalGuy's old model? :'(

that def doesn't look like the same ship. for one thing the textures are reversed but that could be just the pic. and it doesn't look like there are the nemesis photon launchers on the saucer or near the rear of the ship. this ship looks like a modified version of P81's sovy with addition of the extra supports to the nacelles.  i don't see the arches on this version either. The pics on the previous page look a lot more the E from Nemesis. this seems a little fishy to me.

This Sovy up for download is not the one from the pics from the first page. there are no additional weapon arcs like the new photon launchers or the arches around the shuttlebay. Its looks cool and is a good model. but is not the one that is up for download for Bridge Commander.

Well, it may not be the EXACT model from BC, but I for one think it's really good looking.

Thanks for the link., DarkMatrix!

Actually, I imagine the medium detail model would do nicely. It's still up around 7000 though... I dunno the limits of SFC. Course, I could always adapt the CG textures for the old Nemesis Sov model.. it'd take some work, but it's not impossible.. mainly I'd just have to cut the CG sov textures up, and paste them onto the Nemesis sov texture maps.

They're pretty much welcome to use the model if they want, as long as they get the name right on it  I just dunno how they'll manage to get it working, though...

My god, you gotta set some Things straight - this has 13000 Polies, not 5500! Who said that on those Forums?

If the model that DarkMatrix has is only 5000 odd polies then it's definitely not the right one. DarkMatrix is the only one who can convert from NIF though it seems....

It crashes my computer in BC, it's that system intensive.  I'm lucky if I can snap two or three screenshots before I get CTDed.

Hi, figured I'd drop in when I heard all the news.  You're right though, the model that is currently converted is NOT the super detailed Sovereign model you see on the first page.  The high detailed one is called the CG Sovereign, simply because it's so close to the movie (not to mention my initials )  The one you have is my first version, and although much more CPU friendly, it can't hold a candle to the other model's detail.  From what I've heard, you can't have that many polygons in game, so I'm trying to see what I can do.  The medium detail model for BC has around 7000 polies, that may work better, and it's not too different from the high detail model, except for some details that have been deleted.  I don't know the limits of the SFC engine, but if anyone wants to try and use the super detailed model, they're welcome to.  I finally found the final .3ds file for the ship, and I'm planning on releasing it for other modding communities to test.  The textures are huge though, so you'll have to get them from BC-Files by downloading the original CG Sovereign mod.  I don't have any webspace to host them on.

I don't really frequent this board much, but I'll try to visit it every now and then.  When I put the model up for download, it'll be on the Bridge Commander Universe forums, under the modding section.  I'm probably not going to release it on BC Files, but if demand is high enough, I might.  I'm eventually going to also make an ACCURATE set of schematics using this model to distribute.. I hope to eventually rid the internet of the crappy inconsistent schematics we've had so far.

this is awesome the actual creator of that spectacular Nemesis Sovy actually thinking of bringing his uber-detailed model to all of us.  I can't wait to see this one.
