Topic: Multiplayer SFC3 Help?

Hello,

Trying to play SFC3 online for the first time.  Some problems - hope someone can help.

1)  First of all, I have a Gamespy account and do run Zone Alarm (ZA).  When trying to play online, I get all these pop ups from ZA letting me know SFC3 is accessing the net.  But these pop ups are not viewable in the game, I have to ctrl-alt-del - go to task manager - which gets me to the desktop - then I can say yes.  Then I go back to the game.  But sometimes when going back, I cannot see my ship or any other ships.  Also, when ZA puts up the pop up - the 'remember my choice box' is greyed out - so I have to do it every time.  Pain in the Romulan plasma duct!!!  Suggestions?

2)  My first game, I got killed  and the system also crashed on me.  I had a lovely DISREPUTE score of 10000+.  What does this mean?  Can I fix this or am I doomed?

I belive you can manually add a program to Zone alarm, and you can also set SFC to have full access by going to the programs tab and putting ticks in everything to do with SFC.  This should stop the prompts.

There is a section about software firewalls in the Networking and multiplayer readme file, located in sfc3\docs\help, it talks about  Norton and Windows XP firewall's but if should give you some idea.

As for the game crashing there are several things you can try, see  this post for some ideas.
