Question about SFC 2.013pr...
« on: October 01, 2003, 11:00:50 am »
Can this beta version be made public? It is obsolete since dozens of serious bugs have been fixed since then. However, the special Plas-G mechanics are wonderfully refreshing for gameplay.  You can swap the .exe into 2.036 without a hitch.

Khoros was testing a few things to make the Gtorp actually hit something. Suggestions were to extend the range, boost the speed, etc. IIRC the pr was tor Plasma: Range.

2.013pr Plasma-G

Range: Damage
0-10: 11
11-20: 10
21-30: 9
31-33: 8
34-37: 7
38: 6

...or close to that

The idea is that speed 31 enemy phaserboats attacking from range 5.9 will take some minor damage from the Plas-G, roughly simulating a Plasma Bolt (or 2 Disruptors/ Photons). Slower opponents are probably going to face fastloaded F-torps for the 20 point warhead.

I lost all those files when my two Maxtors died. Including some very unique files.

It doesn't matter. These files were never 'officially' released by Taldren. By all rights, their existance should not be mentioned either.

FireSoul is TOTALLY correct.
