I did most of the work when I was off work with a bad back

At the moment I seem to have my work cut out for me at work with all these viruses.

So you work in tech support? Perhaps you could tell me what exactly controls those "messenger service" popups that seem to come from windows, so I can hut down the application that generates them and destroy it. heh

No I own a small computer maintenance business.

I think you need to look in start/control panel/administrative tools/component services/services local/ and disable messenger there

You can also get there, in xp anyway, start->run and typing in services.msc you can disable it from there.
