Topic: What if the Romulans captured a Federation Constitution Secondary Hull..

Ok.. here's the deal..

.. the WB+ is too heavy to mount in the front like I suggested.
.. SO, what if..

.. what if we reinforce the neck of the secondary hull, and installed a WE instead WITH the warps. In the rear, reinforce the struts to support and install warps from a crippled KR-series ship (which would mean I would have to romulanize a good set of KR warps). The plasmas would have to be removed from the neck due to stress, but the ship would still be worthy:

Romulan Recycled Dreadnought (Federation Captured Ship)
Movement cost: 1 2/3   (1.666666)

Saucer (from the WE)
2x10 Warps, 6x Impulse
1x PLaR
2x ph1 FAL, 2x ph1 FAR
1x ph3 RAL, 1xph3 RAR

Secondary hull (From the F-CC+)
2xAWR
2x ph1 360
2x ph3 360
1x PLaD RH
4x Shuttles in 1 Bay
Reinforced Neck: 2xRHULL, 4xph1 FH

Why not use a FBCH, Ulysses class? WZ45?s would provide better neck support IMHO.

In regards to the Federation version of the Romulan Bird of Prey, the USS Peregrine uses a Reliant hull with warps out in TOS BOP fashion. Atrahasis has already mentioned the Newships ?USS Defiant? BOP style. I do believe it would need an upgrade from SFC1 to SFC2/OP.

Because by the time the FBCHs are out, pretty much all the WEs have been converted to KEs and this recycling wouldn't be worth it anymore. You see, I'm also doing the story for the ship, as well as thinking out the weapons and designing a model.

BTW, do the math:
move cost 1.6666 with 50 warps = ~ 30.

My thoughts on the FBCH Ulysses is let?s skip the Connie secondary hull altogether and go for a very grand, memorable accomplishment and not simply an IKV Hood knock off. This is not so far fetched as the Enterprise C was cutting edge for her day and look what happened to her at Romulan hands?

Well.. I'm gonna put down the designer pen since now the model looks silly, and is not very workable in SFB. I *am* going to try to find alternatives to a WE, but I am not holding my breath. However, the idea has at least been presented to the forum, and someone else may pick up on it if they want.

How about an enlarged version of the Romulan Warbird that appeared in "Enterprise"? She might be pre-TOS, but she looks more advanced than her later counterparts.

A long time ago one was made for that modeling contest, but it disappeared. Specs are published in an issue of Star Trek: The Magazine but I have seen little else about this nifty Romulan.

Hmm maybe a Belknap sec hull would be better, since it's smaller it would look more proportional to the small hull of the WE.

Hang on a mo, was not his King Condor and that Sebastopol he did put up for d/l along with a few other things he did that escape me at the moment. Anyway, I wouldn't use the so-called pre-TOS warbird as it totally doesn't fit the TMP era romulan designs like the war eagle in those pics does. In any case I don't think the romulans would waste a prefectly good war eagle hull on a conversion of a fed ship, they would be more inclined to use the less-capable battlehawk as a basis for such a conversion as they were not as needed in the fleet as the war eagles. Just IMO. Only problem then is that we need a decent battlehawk model...

Agreed on the battlehawk now that I've found that it's move cost (weight) fits the bill perfectly, but the same model as basis will do just fine, you'll see.
