I'm E_Look and I've been playing it since SFC1 came out.  I am on these forums way too often and sometimes if I don't get my Hostile Skirmish or Surprise Reversed 2 fix I have dreams (nightmares when the Klinks scratch up my nice Starfleet hulls) about being in SFC missions.  If I do get my SFC fix I have the dreams anyway.

I the only thing I can model is a T-shirt that'll hide my gut.

Have a nice night.

Next?

I'm GAFY? I retexture models and check these forums twice a day and probably spend more time than I should here.

... ( Is this thing on...? )

'ahem' ...

"My name is Mudd and I'm new around here ...

I started playing SFC during my first marriage.

After I found out I could actually change things, it was all downhill from there.

I lost 47 pounds because I only ate between missions. I was fired from my job for downloading models at work. My fish died because I was too busy texturing.  My back is shaped like a question mark from hovering over a dark screen for hours on end ... that reminds me, my eyes are starting to go bad from playing in a poorly lt room. My cat ran away because I kept simulating Lyran hatred towards him because I thought he was a Kzinti sympathizer. I'm up to my fifth relationship since she left ..."

 j/k ... LOL!

It's not quite that bad, wifey likes the spaceships. ( Although, she tells me they all look the same to her ... sigh ..)

His avatar is the TOS origianal Harry Mudd.... Oh, I wish I could find a picture of my one and only hero, Gary Seven. What a guy... what a guy... dressed better than JamesBond, had technology which could have surpassed VOY times, looks like my Papa, has a talking cat, and had a sexy litlle secretary- who he found while on Earth.

Hi... um.. my name is Alec, and I'm here because I have a problem. (shuffle)

I have SFC 1 Demo, SFC 2 Demo, SFC:OP and 3dsMax 3.1 all installed on my computer.  I have probably close to 3GB of various models and ships on my HD. (shrug)

I've weighed the idea of going to bed and getting maybe four hours of sleep before I have a long day ahead of me, or finishing that ship... and sleep has lost.  I've even thought about turning down sex once or twice just to get that mesh finished.  (cough)

When my computer wouldn't connect across the network anymore to the new XP machine and I couldn't share HD space anymore for my SFC work, I took two weeks to find a program that'd allow me to map a FTP server to a local drive and now literally texture across the Internet to get at my models.

My 4 year old will be up in roughly 6 hours, my wife is sleeping on the couch, and I'm on the computer posting a link to an image file to help fill a request because someone made it in the SFC forums...after scouring the Internet for twenty-five minutes to find them.

I hope there's help.. or maybe some kind of medication.  Thank you..

(ps: Reverend, just right-click and save and let me know when you have so I can free off the space for more models).

My name is Rogue... and I am a Starfleet Command addict.

It is my custom to check into the forums every morning. Even when visiting family and friends I keep tabs on what is going on. I used to have a life. Now... I modify Starfleet Command. For some reason I think it is important to to spend hours choosing the perfect model. Or repainting textures if I have to. I... I... ah well frig. It gets worse but I just can't talk about it yet.

For shame, Mackie; not knowing good ol' Harry Mudd!

Sure, He looks a little ... uh ... eccentric (?!) ...  but show me a pimp who isn't a little flamboyant.

Harry, in his first appearance, was selling women to space miners. His second time around, He was trapped on a planet of androids. He only went there because of the women ... he thought he could sell them or thier services as well. He also appeared in the animated series peddling love potions.

Anyway, I like the 23rd century scoundrel. He's always been one of my favorite characters from the series, just because he is so different.

I blame my wife for my SFC addiction. She bought me the game for my birthday a while back and I've been hooked ever since. It's the ONLY game I come back to play over and over again.

And then, quite by accident, I was looking at the Taldren site when I happened upon this forum and found out folks actually made ALL NEW models for the game. HOW AWESOME WAS THAT!? Through this forum I found my first model site, STARYARDS and flipped out at the stuff there. And to this day I have collected models, weapons textures, etc. and played SFC and its ever-expanding universe of ships and more.

I am a SFC addict and have no regrets!!

I have been addicted to the idea of a Star Trek Combat game for the computer ever since the Old MacIntosh computers had the Text based geme where capital 'E's fired '*' torpedoes at 'K' s, LOL.

I have all the SFC games and was hooked on the SFC1 demo. REPAIR RONDEVOUS, KOBYASHI MARU and BALANCE OF TERROR should be mandatory skirmish scripts for any SFC game and I am disappointed theyare not yet available for SFC: OP. As a FASA TREK player it took me time to get used to all the new weapons but I'm hooked and here to stay.

At the end of a long hard day, its nice to be able to take a chance to save the universe or just to see what's new for the game. I also enjoy giving back however I can.

Qapla!

...Ahem

Hi, my name is Scott, and I'm an SFC-aholic.

I've tried several times to quit, taking my friend's advice that real life was more important. But I always went back. Now, lately, I spend over 80 hours per week modeling, texturing, modding and even occasionally playing SFC. I went throught several girlfriends during my struggle with SFC addition, then one of them, after I lost my job, told me to try making something positive out of my SFC addiction. I immediately married her. Now my partner SghnDubh (another SFC addict) and I are launching our own game development company. So any future without SFC in it looks pretty grim for me. By the way, I've got another new SFC3 mod coming out in a couple weeks, which looks to be the most popular SFC3 mod server in the world, TNZ3. It includes almost a dozen ship models that I made myself from scratch with 3DMax, and over 100 that I personally kitbashed.

I am a hopless SFC-aholic. And I'm proud of it.
