U.S.S. Relentless

I've never been able to do this ship proper justice but now I think I've made a version that doesn't look like a 15 minute rush job. I need to add a few details but otherwise the ship is practically completed:

HI WZ
Nice TNG Excelsior variant. You've got something there.

Come, now!

When did    any  of your models look like 15 minute rush jobs??
Nice take on a classic design.

They may be classics, but the perfectionist psychotic in my brain likes to point out how I can do better

Of course, I've learned more since I built the last one:

You know I said what a nice ship , untill I saw the shuttle bay doors, I hate the numberd doors, thoes things were only on the Reliant. Other than that again nice ship for a fed.

It's his ship, he can do what he likes with it.

Everyone has their own tastes about these things. If you don't like the numbers, you can easily mark them out (once it's for download anyways   ) I, on the other hand, like the doors as they are, probably because I'm a stickler for the old TMP era designs.

Just for the sake of being a smart alec though, the Akira class has the numbered doors too

Not exactly, but the Relentless was one of the first, if not the first, models I ever made (OK, technically it was just a kitbash of the old stock fdn mod, but eh). I have plenty of favorites but the Excelsior, Defiant, Galaxy, and refit Connie are near the top of my list.

Then that's the PERFECT name for this, your latest job- the Relentless!  An example of the relentless quest to improve something.  If this continues, it'd be something in later years to compare its versions with what was improved upon now!

Have you ever thought about
TOS  ships?

I finished 'er and she's online now with versions for all the SFC games. The SFC3 specs included list her as a BC, sort of a mix between the game's Nebula and Excelsior (without the lame firing arcs), even though I had envisioned her as being more powerful. Here's a shot of the standard specs, though I left room for improvement:

This link is just a temp one 'til Nightsoft comes back online:

I suppose I have relentless perfectionism

Actually I have done a TOS era ship, the U.S.S. Patton, a variant of the old Connie design. DRS is down at the moment so you can't see it but I'll probably end up redoing it as well. I'm not a big fan of the TOS era but there are a few designs I've been planning to do eventually.

Thanks for the d/l WZ. Hey I was looking at your pic. You don't look so good man. Maybe your eyes are so red from meshing so much

really sweet ship! I, for one, am a big TOS fan and have your Patton too. An update would be cool. I like the original, but wouldn't mind seeing how you could make it look now. New hi-res skins etc... Thanks for the new model
