"Enterprise" now blows,  im no longer a fan of this show. I thought it was a good "alternate universe trek" but this Xindi thing really ends the fun .

Here is what u have to look forward to    a dead crack junky could think up better stuff!

On a mission to investigate an abandoned Xindi vessel on a jungle planet, Archer, Reed and Hoshi succumb to a virus that mutates them into a primal life form.

The NX-01 gets closer to a showdown with the Xindi when Captain Archer takes on an enigmatic passenger: a beautiful slave named Rajiin.

When Enterprise responds to a distress call from a Vulcan ship stranded in the Delphic Expanse, Archer and his boarding team are attacked by insane zombie-like Vulcans.

A powerful telepath makes contact with Hoshi and offers to help Enterprise find the Xindi ... for a price.

Archer, Reed and Major Hayes infiltrate a Xindi-Sloth industrial colony to learn more about the weapon of mass destruction that will be used against Earth.

and there has to be a end of the damn Xindi so atleast 1 more , problay the earth ship just beams down a photon and the planet blows type of thing

makes me sad to see this happen atleast there is no STARTREK in the title they cant cornhole that.

WOW!  It took you this long to lose interest in the show?  I lost interest halfway through the series premiere.  I'm not gonna try to say I saw this coming with B&B at the helm.    Look at the way they took Voyager, especially the last half of the final season, just atrocious.

It's cathartic, isn't it? Proclaiming your eternal disgust for this travesty and not having to 'try' to like it anymore. I know there's much less stress in my life now that I've made myself realize I don't give a [censored] about Enterprise and could care less about how they screw up.

Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion. I just think the caliber of fan usually found on these boards is above the adolescent trash B&B try to feed us.

Im only 17 and I think that their stories suck compared to DS9, TOS and TNG.

Aren't B&B crack junkies their not "dead" but they're brain dead

Quote:

On a mission to investigate an abandoned Xindi vessel on a jungle planet, Archer, Reed and Hoshi succumb to a virus that mutates them into a primal life form.

And we all thought they'd rip off SG-1 using MACO,  instead they're carbon copying an episode

Quote:

The NX-01 gets closer to a showdown with the Xindi when Captain Archer takes on an enigmatic passenger: a beautiful slave named Rajiin.

An example of B&Bs extraordinary talents "can't think of a good story use a crappy one and use a hot babe who can't act if her life depended on it to distract the viewers so they don't notice the crappiness"

Quote:

When Enterprise responds to a distress call from a Vulcan ship stranded in the Delphic Expanse, Archer and his boarding team are attacked by insane zombie-like Vulcans.

What are B&B going to rip off this time "Resident Evil", "Night of the Living Dead", or will this turn out to be another Borg episode

Quote:

A powerful telepath makes contact with Hoshi and offers to help Enterprise find the Xindi ... for a price.

Another example of B&Bs extraordinary talents "can't think of a good story use sex to distract the viewers from a crappy story

Special guest stars
Hans Blitz
Saddam Hussain
George W. Bush as President of Earth

How could they infiltrate a place that should be heavily guarded?

Whatever the explanation is knowing B&B it'll suck

Yeah, I kind of whinced when I read about the name change.  I've been kind of laughing all along when people comment on the "alternate universe" of Enterprise.  I don't know if it was ever officially stated that this was an alternate universe (I certainly haven't read it), but rather I've seen a lot of people assuming it was because it wasn't sporting the "Star Trek" name up front.  I have seen plenty of interviews talking about how cool it was to go back into StarTrek history and do all these things, especially when you "knew where you would eventually end up".  Ouch.  Now they slap the name on there, does the alternate universe thing still hold?

I don't find Enterprise to be extraordinarily offensive...although I admit that if it were to be terminated, I wouldn't miss it.  Once in a while, a decent episode emerges from the crapper. Nonetheless, I must say that my interest in Star Trek tends to be dedicated to the various novels, as I feel that even the most tepid book handily beats the best episode. My most recent read has me glad that B&B aren't touching the Enterprise-B era. If some of  these Enterprise episode are any indication of their best work, then perhaps the only remaining Lost Era is better left to a reader's imagination than that of Berman's.

Well i guess they did decide to cornhole it , now my head hurts.

I gave the show support untill they decided to blow off most of this season on the xindi every other trek kept things like this venture to a 3 part max thats what kept me a fan i knew something "new" was to come.  Oh well better than nothing i guess.

Stupid, boring, tasteless, lacking class- a perfect example of the capitalistic beast Western culture has devolved into.... its all the same, Star Trek, Wal-mart, Microsoft, Christianity.... everything is soulless and faceless and dollar-driven- which is exactly what everyone wanted.
Oh, can't forget that Batlestar Galactica, full of tuff-kewl pretty titty pals for us to want to be like for 15 minutes until our new role model comes out..... just like THK-1138.

It sucks.... End of story... I couldn't care less that people consider it "canon", i'd much rather read about the pre-tos stuff on Bernd Schneider's Starfleet Museum subsite... At least they care about it enough to make it believable...

Lord, I'm glad I only saw one episode; that's hideous.... Starforce, you can't be serious to say you thing it canon, with that sort of business above in the show? A person of your caliber believing in or supporting tht sort of non-canon nonsense? I held you in higher regard than that, certainly.
You like it, well, I can't and won't hold that against you, and I will shut my trap now... you'll still be cool to me, but I rather you not ask me to watch it, because I won't.

Regardless of whether someone likes it or not, the defenition of canon is that it is in a StarTrek T.V. show.  Well, guess what.  It's a Trek show, and it's even got "StarTrek" in the title now.  Besides the interviews talking about knowing where the series history has to end up, because of TOS.  It's canon, unfortunately.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I like the new show. It's a thinking man's show. It at times explores issues relevant to us today from an alien perspective but we darn well know it's talking about us. This is what the original show liked to do, for example all those times they found an Earth-replica planet but something on it had gone wrong in its past ("Miri" and "The Omega Glory"). Does it make much sense or is it realistic? Heck no. People should scoff at the idea of finding TWO Earth-replicas in deep space in the same series, if they have any horse sense at all. But once you accept that Trek is art and it at times tries to do some social exploring via this medium and in this fashion, you can just sit back and enjoy the show. Expecting it to be correct in continuity for every piece of hardware or weapon or gadget that they show is having the wrong expectations for this show, in my opinion, and frankly is saying that the show should have lower standards because it's basically a demand to sacrifice creativity for having the correct props or some stage-related issue like that.

I especially like how they succeeded in incorporating an overarching time-travelling paradox into the underlying fabric of the series,  that's something that has not been tried before.

Might I also point out that in the original run of the TOS series, the show was considered bad! People did not like it much, it was only in the reruns in the 1970's that people watched it with a passion. Some things take time to sink in, and often you don't appreciate something until it's gone, and there's also the fact that hindsite lends perspective.

What's wrong with that idea specifically?

Is every analogy involving a slightly less than "conventional" group of people going to be deemed awful just for the sake of the fact that that we might not like that group of people? Analogies are made all around us everyday....Why should they be considered bad in this show? I agree wwhole-heartedly with what Atrahasis has said about the whole Earth-relica thing and how it lets us explore what might be - but isn't. I am confused! Please explain this to me? Is this forum homophobic now?

And where are all of the women to balance this place out?

On the Trek side of things I was very displeased with the producers taking something that was very Vulcan in the Star Trek universe and manipulating into something considered unacceptable by the ignorant bigotous Vulcan conservatives. The Vulcan mind meld, a hall mark of Star Trek was sacrificed on the alter of political correctness. A similar thing happened with the concept of warp speed in TNG and the Bajoran Worm Hole in DS9. I could live with the warp and wormhole thing, but this mind meld thing was crossing the line. As far as the "homophobic" issue, you will have to personal message me or e-mail me to discuss that one, the model forum is not the place.

Enterprise needs to focus on the Earth-Romulan War. Now that would be much more interesting!

I really hate the way they have tried so very desperately to eroticize the Vulcans.  What they are doing is shameful, and a grab for cheap ratings.  Have we ever seen Vulcan's wear skin tight body suits on a regular basis?  Do any of the other Vulcan's that we've seen do so?  T'pol wore robes in the opening of the first episode, but when she gets onboard, it's skin tight.  Why?  Would we be seeing all these erotic or "intimate" Vulcan things if the Vulcan onboard were a male?  Even if he were attractive?   Maybe, but only if he were engaging in such activity with another female onboard (the female that they would put onboard wearing skin tight clothes, of course.  They NEED it).

well, after seeing the episode you've all be complaining about, I think it was a good episode. That plot wasn't that complex but it did have another nice alien ship, and not a reuse of some design.

IMO There's always been something deeply screwed up with the Vulcans.....they go into Pon Farr every seven years,, and yet this is not a natural development but something that started (unwillingly I might add) ever since they started to repress their emotions?

When was the vulcan mind meld compared to homosexuality? You've got to remeber this isn't tng. Most people by that era accepted the mind meld. Back in archers day, the vulcans were despised and people proably wouldn't like the idea of merging minds. I don't think there was ever a relation made to homosexuals.
