Distress call: Does anyone have my C-5 Klink DN?
« on: September 21, 2003, 02:17:27 pm »
I'm updating my site, and to my shame I found that I can't find my C-5 files anywhere. Could someone please email or post a link here? It would be much appreciated by me and the users of my site.

Btw, the C-7 and KCR are back up, with some unwanted shadows eliminated and hardpoints updated for OP.

I can mail you the C5 when I get back to Uni on Sunday Atra. Until then, my net connection is too pathetic to send a zip file that size.

Oh, and woohoo! for the C7 and KCR

While I'm waiting for that, here's a cool blast from the past, if anyone remembers from a few years ago.....back up at my site! You can use it as an Orion freighter. I would recommend you use it to completely replace that awful triangle-shaped freighter.

I can cover the C5 for Atrahasis. While I am at it I also have copies of you D1, D7, D7C and Khitomer if you would like to reclaim them. Name anything you want and someone will see to it. N'Neikha perhaps?

Edit, KF got it done already. That's the kind of guy he is   Still if anything crosses your mind let us know. Pretty much all of your models are out there among us.

Peace, Bro.

Son of edit; uploading as I post this.

Your C5 should be there. I'm going to go ahead and pack up your D1 as well because... heck, I don't know but something is telling me it would be good to do.

Memories.... Excellent ship. Still have your Starblazers and Captain Harlock anime ships too.

So how about a new Gorkon Carrier and ressurecting the ORIGINAL L24A with the red/brown textures?

man it's been a long time since I've seen blackhole. Ofcourse the only good part is when you get all the anseroids ripping the ship apart. Heh.

Nice work on the klingons, btw.

Hi Atra,

Aren't most of your models up for download at the Starfleet Universe, in the SFU's File and Model Repository?

SFU may have my stuff, but they're the versions from years ago, and the ones I'm re-releasing now are improved in some way. Also, as usual, their server seems to be down.

Btw Fartytwo, I got the first part, ready for the second any time now.

Atrahasis, is there any chance of the KCR skin showing up on that C5? That's one slot no one has ever filled for us; a Kestral Dread. Most Rommies are still either using the stock model (hmmm no [puke] graemlin eh...], or a Klink skinned replacement.

But I don't see a Rom C-5 in the shiplist.....is it realistic to think that the Klinks would sell all their ship types to the Roms?

Nope, the Klinks never sold any C5s to the RSE, only the C9 hulls. It wouldn't be canon, but it'd be a big step ahead of where we are.

Well.. what you could do is download both and copy the C5.mod's into the KCR folder and have about what you want. I did it quickly and it looks pretty good. I have no plans to add it to my Romulan fleet, myself.

A celebration of Atrahasis's Klingon C5...

Step right up folks and get yer Klingon light dreadnought right here. It slices. It dices. It fires bursts of disruptor fire and launches drones with great delight. And if you time your alpha strikes well it even makes julian fries. Yes sir... available for a limited time only. The choice of discriminating Klingon captains everywhere.

*Disclaimer: Captain your KC5 well. It is not indistructable! Do not wear the box and packing. Do not eat the silica gel. People will laugh at you for doing so.

I think a lot of us feel this way about many of your models, Atra. They really have been that much fun. Models like the C5 have helped to make a game that had a lot of mediocre models ported from other games into a visual wonder. Think not? Try going back to the original model set. Not so fun to look at. But that's just what I think.

Oh I know, I enjoy playing with the stuff I make too, and thanks. Yeah, to get a Rom C-5 just replace all the KCR textures into the C5 folder....this'll overwrite the original C-5 textures, so make sure you make a backup.

Just for some SFB "historical" reference, the two C-5's that the Klingons built (which were "Fast" or "Raiding" Dreadnoughts, similar to the Federation DNL) were named the Kommander Kurlt and the Kommander Kuyper.

I use your C5 for all Klingon DNs, mainly because I like the way it looks better than anything elkse out there.  I don't care if it's really just a C5...heheh.

If you were to do a C8/C9...a C8V/K...some TMP BBs and a full line of carriers in addition to the C8V/K, I'd be one happy Doggy...

As I said to you in PMs a while back, aside from P81's B'Rel and K'Vort, and Gow's B10 and C8V/K reworks, you're are the only Klingon models I use.

Honestly, I'm not sure what constitutes what...

They have different skins...and they look somewhat different than Taldren's stock versions.  I assume he has changed the base model as well as the skins themselves.  I'm no modeller, so I don't know how it all works or what the proper lingo is...heheh.

I believe his stuff is still available on SFU if you wanted to try and track them down.

Stats for the Lotus Flower / Kobayashi Maru, at my site:

In the Game: Here are the stats that I derived from the FASA numbers. Note that since it's a Neutronic Fuel Carrier, it has a very high explosion value of 100. This means if you're an enemy and are on a mission to destroy a convoy with one of these, you'd best do it at extremely long range because if you're near it when it explodes, you'll probably go with it. Don't forget that ships in your fleet, if they are too eager, may get themselves blown up as well. This adds a new dimension to convoy missions.
