Here are a few screen shots from the mod ive been working on...
« on: September 19, 2003, 09:32:58 am »
I kinda eluded to it in the last message to korah.. i decided to post a few images.. im not going public with it yet because i need to take the readme files in each of the model folders and create a cumulative readme with credit to all of the models..

here are a few images of the latest build. you can play the stock single player missions through (and its more fun that way. hehe).. here are a couple of ships added in.. the klingon B11k and Romulan King Condor.

enjoy

thank you mackie - i greatly appreciate it coming from you especially.. the armada is the fed's BB.. thanks to desty - he posted some of knox1709's kb's of p81s stuff.. (the niagra, etc) i hope to add those in.. that includes the challanger and springfield classes...

what i would love to do is find some script d00d (pelican mayber?) and redo the wolf 359 script with cannon ships.

Hey NannerSlug.  My Sun  mod will be available at SFU in a few days. Your welcome to include it in your SFC3 mod as well.
There are 3 bat files included that will change the stock sun to green or  blue and restore it  back to yellow. The d/l will be 3.3MB so its not too big.

Red can be done. Only the sun model size itself can't be altered, as it appears hard coded. Also when you affect the sun corona you also affect the ion storm.  Hec I forgot about red dwarfs.  Could make a black hole too I guess

dyson sphere - that is relics.. wrong eppisode..

btw, i am interested in a red sun forno.. im going to see if the script can call that special sun.. go ahead and make it red dwarf size since wolf 359 is a red dwarf system.

These suns all use the stock sun which is hard coded as I have not see a model for it in any folder. Thus it can't be resized.
So if you make it red, it stays red until you run  the bat file that recopies the original textures and restores it to yellow again.

I made 2 versions.  I prefer the 1st, Though the center is still yellowish. The 1st 2 links are the red/yellow version. This makes the ion storm look pretty awesome. 1st link is of sun and ion storm, 2nd of storm.

The 3rd link has the sun more red, however the ion storm look like bright red blobs as the sun corona and ion storm use 1 of the same texture maps. So its always the best comprimise.

James - that red sun looks exactly like the BC Version - that is just tops. Wait till we see that in Wolf 359. Real nice top notch work.    I like it - A LOT.    Compare James Formo's SFC3 shot with these Bridge Commander shots of Wolf 359 (no ships added yet)

Nanner - I dare say the new SFC3  Wolf 359 will be very real..  I look forward to it with great anticipation

James- that totally kicks ass!! Could you please include a red sun with the green and blue one as well? You may noy like it, but I think it'd be great, and I would like you permission to include it in my Total Loser Alternate Universe Mod as well...if that's cool.... nothing like background changes to spice things up.

Thanks guys. Bring on Wolf359        I already uploaded the gree/blue version. So I will upload a seperate version with a red sun, a dark red sun and a black hole      Reverend, your welcome to use em in your mod, just include the readme some wheres  I'll get these up at SFU after I post this.

Here is a sreenof the black hole.  Its a novelty as not that sepctacular. However it is animated. The orange spots blink on and off and the center rotates. I could make it all black with a flashy pink neon sign.

btw nice screenies Chris
