How to make the scimitar playable in conquest mode?

i saw this in the past, but it was on the old forums. anybody know? any instructions would be appreciated ; )

heres how you do it -

backup the file called Default loadout (to keep for online play)

this file is found in the SFC 3\assets\specs folder

after making a backup copy for switching the file, do the following :

Right click on DefaultLoadOut.txt and select properties

take the check mark out of read only

Click OK

Open DefaultLoadOut.txt with notepad

click on Format and turn off word wrap

click on Edit at the top and select find

type in Romulan-Battleship

in the line of Romulan Battleship you will see the entry like this

find NS and erase it..

save the file

now the Scimitar is selectable in single player campaign mode of he game.

That should work because it worked for me, and now the Romulans are more powerful than ever...

What about adding it to the list of useable ships for skermis not just replaceing?

In all the other SFC's this was doable.

i did what was instructed above, and it does add for skirmish missions w/ out replacing any ships, so alls well ; )

Playing with the Scimitar...reminds me of the ISC Dreadnaught ship with its offinsive pounch, except maybe more profound.  The Cube even though it is huge...it's very slow has less fire power in one arc then the rest of the race's large hauls.  Just get thru a Brogs regenerating armour and it'll go down.......plus arming for it's warp/impluse cores puts it into a bind fast.  How ever it is the ONLY ship that can take out a Defeint one on one with damage mind you but no where near out....the Defeint can't use the anti-matter mine on it which is the power behind the Defeint (fly thru the target place a mine and your out of range of the mine before the target has it out of their shields).
