Topic: New/old Mackie stuff, plus the Melak? ;) (PIX INTENSIVE!)

I'm currently going through Mackie's LWO directory and converting some stuff.  Have some pics of stuff ready to go into 3dsMax, plus also some stuff that only needs hp/dp'ing and then it's ready for the game.

(plus, I also have some final pre-release shots of the Melak.. want to test it out ingame and see how it looks in there to see if it needs any final tweaks).

The Paladin is really cool for a TOS era ship...

As for the Melak. I'm truly sorry, I absolutely HATE to nitpick, given the accursed history of this ship not being accurately made... The Melak is missing the lower boom that holds the command pod to the ship. If you want me to resend the Melak pics I have just let me know. I applaud your HEROIC effort to tackle this difficult ship.

That's why these are pre-release pictures.    I honestly forgot about the boom with trying to get the rear groove in there and looking half decent.  So, it'll be added in there, no worries..

The question is, other than the boom.. how does the rest of the ship look?  Did I get that torpedo opening about right (or close) in the front?  The nacelles look okay?  That kind of thing..

Not A Problem I Can Change That Pretty Quick Now A Days, so the released colour doesn't matter as long as it is not coded into the model like some gray areas that Khaliban has on his connie.

somehow it seems if id have forgotten some textures from the packages of the monsters , let me know if this is so?
(for example the ajattara worms back bones, theyre supposed to have the same texture as its teeth)

Actually Mackie, you didn't.. the mesh just wasn't in a .MOD format yet, which just meant that I was just kind of picking textures to display on the mesh.  It'll be correct in the .MOD

Anyways, (hey KF, please note!) here's some new shots of the Melak with the new lower boom.  (To answer starforce2's question, The Melak is a prototype TMP-era Romulan Warbird that is the progenitor of the TNG D'Deridex class Warbird (supposedly).  It was seen in the opening credits for a Star Trek game.




This is almost (I think) ready to go.. I just want to try and figure out how to smooth out the black patches on the upper and lower curved outer wing surfaces.  Have an idea on that, and want to try that before releasing.  Also need to close off the end of the boom closest to the center of the ship yet.

But there you go..

Atheorhaven, you are awesome!  What a MAJOR improvement by leaps and bounds! The Melak engines look like they are coming along fine too.

K, I'll be quiet now. Must not awaken the CURSE of the Melak.... LOL

BTW: Where is that luxury liner? Its got a date with the Doomsday Machine....

Thanks for the compliment on the Melak KF.. having a few issues straightening out the dark areas.  But I'll get it.  The *only* thing that'll prevent me from getting this one out is if my computer dies, or my wife's machine dies, or I get thrown out on the street because I'm spending more time with my computer than my wife, or something like that.    But the liner will be done as well..

starforce2, thank Mackie for that... as usual.  I'm just converting them over, adding hp/dp's, and a new registry.  In this case, this has been the most difficult registry that I've done next to my original registries for the TOS Defiant.  And had to mask the original registries that were burned into the illumination maps as well.  But when it's released, I'll release both sets of registries with it... and people should be able to create their own registries for it without having to do the illumination over again anyways.

It doesn't take very long to do credits at all.. so should have these all done (with the possible exception of the Paladin and Melak) within the next two days and either on my site, or Mackie's (depending on if they came from Mackie's LWO's or from other sources).  Would've had more time today to work on things, but found a stray dog this evening that we're taking care of until we can get ahold of the SPCA in the morning.  (She has a numbered SPCA tag and tatoo, so should be easy to reunite with her owner.. just couldn't get them over tonight because when we found her, they were already closed.)
