Hey all,

This game is making me nuts.
SFC3 refuses to work.
The error message I get is "DirectX 8.1 is not installed."
Well, I know it's there. In fact, I've installed and uninstalled the game several times and I get the same message. It happens just before the game reaches the title screen. After it gives me the above error, another error pops up;
"runtime error, abnormal program termination"

Has anyone seen these errors before?

I have installed the latest drivers for my video card(GeForce 2 Ti) and I have also installed DirectX 9b.
Please help!!!

Have you installed the Beta Patch?

try this:

SFC3 Beta Patch

and read this:

DX9 Patch And The Beta Patch

If you have upgraded to DX9b already you won't need the "DX9 Patch". It was a small problem they fixed in the Beta Patch.
