SFC:OP -> Battle at the grave of thought: beta1?
« on: February 14, 2003, 10:47:39 pm »

Ok.. I've just done fixes towards the mission: "Uni_7BattleGrave" so that we can use it within SFC:OP.

The mission can be found here:  http://klingon.stasis.ca/EAW_missions/Uni_7BattleGrave.scr
The sources of the mission can be found here:  http://klingon.stasis.ca/EAW_missions/Uni_7BattleGrave-20030214.zip

Consider this a "fixed" but not throughly tested version. Please let me know if you encounter problems.

This mission is part of the single-player campaigns originally compiled for SFC:EAW. They've been recompiled for SFC:OP once the sources have become available. If you still don't have the campaigns themselves, the updated package can be found here:

I've decided to add self-destruct Hail buttons for the bases .. to facilitate their destruction after the prisoners have been removed.
.. OP has frozen on me between self-destructs.. twice..  probably because I'm dealing with captured units.

.. stay tuned.

So does this work for EAW as well as OP or just OP?

I can't see why this couldn't be compiled for EAW..
.. why? EAW players can download a version from 2501 or so.. I believe that one worked fine?

Ok.. so.. it's 5am..

.. oh well.. I guess I got into it.
I think I removed the last bit of problems.

Here's proof, at least from a Hydran point of view:

A transport arrives..

A new button is available from the listening post after all the prisoners are rescued:

What it does:

The end result of the mission:

What "Astounding victory" means, in this case:

I've updated the packages on my site. I left them with the same date. Download them again if you have before 5am EST.

I've been suggested a few text tweaks:

1- each time a freighter reaches a base and reports that it picked up the prisoners:
Mention that scuttle charges have been put in place.

2- once primary and secondary objective have been completed:
"All we need to do to complete our mission is leave."  .. by mentioning disengagement, I won't have to code a "mission complete" condition. ;>

.. these tweaks are purely cosmetic and doesn't change the mission in anyway from this point.
Continue on with the current version.. I'll toy with the sources and put the results up when I'm done with this tweaking.
