Damage on ships

Why on some ships the damage shows up on sfc3 but not on others, the ones that don't have damage maps ie topd.bmp and so on, but never show any damge, they also have teh a1 a2 a3 etc for hardpoints. Any body else have this probelm? adn if so how to fix? thanks in advance

I noticed this on a ship I added as well. I did a straight up replacement for the soverign so I used all the original files except made a new .gf    I imported the new ship and imported all the hp and damage points.  No idea how damage is assigned with the maps.  I am guessing that they might have to be assigned to the model. Yet I had another ship I added that took damage when no extra steps were done. So its a bit wierd.

If you get the sfc3 model tools pack by Taldren use the recahe thing and then do new glows it sometimes fixes the problem, that is if there are damage textures ,gf file all good, and all  textures are sized correct ect .

yes some work and some dont work, i have not found a reason for it yet. if have the recache thing however it locks up on all three of my compters, have redownloaded it and it still locks up. going to try what yopu said about recache it, it does run for a bit then stops, the redoing the glows. i have damage texture files for all the textures at  256x256.  Going to try that. and see what happends. will let you all know

nope still dont work have tryed differnt ways of putting damge on ships, the stock damage pattern, also tryed  just drwaing crasy lines all over the textures, just some models just dont show the damge.

They do the same on my pc too, tis most irritating!

Delete the .x files, and double check the file endings are correct (which I am sure you've done by now). The game is forced to recreate the DirextX file, and it will correctly load up the damage textures this time.

OMG!!! well that was easy lol thanks, just delate the x file mow why didnt i think of that.  How did you ever figure that out Pelican?  now just got to go any delate about a zillion files. Thanks agin you are the greatest

Because I've been adding ships to the DW Mod for about 4 months now, and you pick up a few things en-route.
