Texture wip update-  about 80% of these textures are mine. 20% Taldren. When I an done they will be 100% mine. Just using Taldren's to fill out the ship for some screenies.  I am sampling colors from Taldrens Gdx  just to keep in traditional gorn colors.

I learned a new technique for doing the textures you see on the hull real fast. Thinking this might come in handy if I ever try some Klink ships.  This is the 1st model I used Max with.

Thanks Kreeargh.   Hell yea I can do a pf.  Will be doing an entire fleet for an SFC3 mod I decided to pull together.
This ship is in the 6000 poly range though. I imagine for a pf I need to tone it down some.  Ill check out what the stock pf looks like 1st. Can't remember off hand.

I used the Gorn Gff class as a guide to design this cruiser. Obviously it went off on a bit off a tangent. What was cool is the ship just kinda designed itself.  I imagine its been influenced by the other Gorn I see in the forum. Like Skinmans' mesh from the DS9 gorn that never got released. It looks sleeker as well along the lines of the FASA Gorn Korah just finished. Then those wheels on the side come from the stock tmp Gorn, more or less. At one time I had a 3rd whell in the front and it looked like a trike

UPDATE   Anyone see any improvements need made. Thinking I need to tone down the green or have less of it.
The top view does not show the ship design well. For that see the other texture link above. This view shows the hull texturing the best.

Hey Kreeargh. A version without the 'wheels' and minus the crossbars on the bottom (figure you never really notice the bottom of a pf)  it would stand at about 2300 polies.  This retains enough to still make it interesting.  Is that  workable for a pf or still too high?

I can take off the top crossbars and its down to like 800 polies. Then its pretty basic, in fact the design is pretty well lost.

I have the textures done. Didn't like the green in the last pic. went back to light blue. Less along the sides. Added an orange impulse engine in back. Only thing I might do is add something to the wings texture wise.

Taking awhile with this one as I will be using this as a base for 3 or so other ships. I can pump out the bashes pretty fast as there will just be some minor texture tweaking.

Hey James, I wonder if you could do a texture job on my FASA Gorn models using colors and patterns from the stock Taldren models? Or heck, with any textures you want really :P  Link to download the Gorn models is  here.

Korah, I was going to try 1. Unfortunately Milkshape kept crashing when I tried importing the mod file. Milk sometimes won't import mods. No idea why except it might depend on which max made the mod.  Or it might be that a shape used in the mod is too complex for MIlk to read it.  I have Max 3.1 but I always map in milk.

Update.  All my ships in SFC3 a bit too dark. Just reinstalled and gotta tweak the lighting.

If you have SCME try converting the .mod to a .lwo. You can import that into Milkshape and texture from there. Were these .mods exported for SFC3? Is there a illumination or something on them which might trigger the crashes? I've resized them--they were too big in SFC2--and been playing with some basic stuff using the picture of a MA-12 on the FASA ad for their miniatures which came with the RPG. I've added the FASA sword-and-shield logo to the flanks.

It works fine in-game. However, as I'm dealing with a 17-year old cat with a heart murmur now, I don't expect to have time of feel like messing with this much. As it stands, it's crude, but this is what I'm playing with.
