are there any specific command lines for running the game in a window or for example, without sound?  -its no fun having to b00t each time i try something

Only by editing the sfc.ini file, I think.

Try setting the following sfc.ini settings to "0":
Code:
[Sound]
voice=3
GlobalVolume=100
MusicVolume=75
VoiceVolume=100
MaxChannels=16
CollisionAlert=0

3dot14: THANKS! this is EXACTLY what i needed  

(thres a problem withb the windowed "CVAR" in the ini though, yeah its starts the game in a window alraight but after the loading text the screen goes entirely dark, for the window part, ofcourse)

Just for my info could you say what sort of cordless mouse it is.

I have a Logitech MX700 and I don't think I am having any problems with the default settings.

So do I and neither am I.



I was going to suggest checking his "fastwrites" setting and disabling it if iot was toggled on.  Was worth a try, but clearly not the problem...heheh.
