.rec to .avi ???
« on: August 18, 2003, 01:23:27 am »
Sorry if this has been posted on before, but I ran a search and found nothing on the boards...

Is there any way to get an SFC3 mission file to an AVI format?  Any way to generate bitmap frames of the playback?  Or is there a thirdparty program that runs in the background that works properly with SFC3?

Thanks if anyone knows or can help.

Cheers,
Zor

First of all, from what I remember, the .rec fies are very small companred to how long an avi file would be for that length of a movie. Therefore I'm guessing, and I mean I'm really guessing cuase i have no idea, but i'd say that it isn't possible to convert from the .rec to an avi file. From the size of the rec files, it looks to me like all they contain is the differentsettings, commands, the outcomes and the timing. When you play it back in SFC, the game just reads those commands and show the consequences of those commands back on the screen.

But like I said, this is just pure speculation and could be totally wrong.
