You will need the SFC 3 DirectX 9 patch from Activision. it corrects the error of crashing to desktop because SFC 3 is looking for DirectX 8.1 and can't find it.

Also you can get the Nemisis Add On from Activision.. it adds the model of the Scimitar (the romulan Battleship from the movie Nemisis), 1 script to play the Scimitar... however several of the D3 servers have the Scimitar as a purchasable ship...

Both of these files can be found at this address :

http://www.gaming.startrek.com/games/sfc3/downloads.php

Hope that these files help

lets see if this works better

LOL.. I remember posting this in all the Taldren Forum rooms about a month ago in the Old Taldren Forums...

the problem occurred in the December Security updates for Fast user Switching..... the fix does not fix the SFC 1 problem after the game has been installed, however it does prevent problems when installing future games that require the CD to be in to play...

For those of you who want SFC 1 working again on Windows XP, please contact me at pestalence@startrek.net

Thanks
