Yes, I know it's all caps, but I have to say, I've gone spastic with complete awe! This is it! This is the THING! I decided to try out Chris Jones's Mod and guess what...It's freaking Rocking! I can't say enough about it! It actually has the ships as more reasonable designs. For example, the Talon, is no longer a strange ship from nowhere, it's the freaking Romulon Shuttle.

If that's not enough, they have more Borg ships for you Borg Players, including the Assimilator! More Federation ships including the Centaur! The Fehk'lir design has been replaced with something that ACTUALLY looks more Klingon! And it has PLAYABLE Dominion and Cardassians, as well as a Ferengi vessel and a Breen Ship tossed in the mix! I mean, this IS TOTALLY INCREDIBLE, with all sorts of wild awesome things!

It does not seem to work with the Beta Patch...just a warning, and the full version will not work on the D3 or in MP, so it's skirmish, however, the partial version should work. I'm totally thrilled by it, and I typically don't like concentrating on AI skirmishes! That's how Awesome it is.

Note to Taldren, and Dave if you have any say in the matter (Though should I be asking Bradley instead)? Can you use some of the ideas of the Mod for the Romulans, replacing some of the ships with some of his...Oh yes...guys...he has the Valdore!

Yeah, I first DL'ed the mod about 2 weeks ago, and I love it too. It's given a breath of fresh air to a patchless game which seems to be missing a lot. If ONLY I could figure out how to install this mod into a server kit to put it on a D3 server, then I would revel in joy!!!

Pass it on - this rocks, I dont know even though its only a beta and is half finished itself, this is sorta how I would have liked SFC3 to be. The fact that you can Will Rickers 3 warp naceled Enterprise from the future going up against an ablative armourd borg cube. THIS ROCKS

Furthermore, not having thought annoying shield bars displayed in game makes the game just look awsome

I don't understand. Whats the deal taldren? Why is it other people have to a improve on a game that YOU created. People have to virtuallly make a game from that scraps that you have given us! its great that you guys are working on all the fixes and what not, but with sfc3 it just wasn't enough. After viewing the files and folders in the sfc3 directory, there is even evidence that species 8472 is playable in sfc3. This game is very under developed. I mean you even have alot of crap from sfc1, sfc2, and op in this game. But the biggest question is why? why would you limit this game so much? why hold back. you've seen all the complaints from your fans but your actions show that you don't give a damn. Again i ask, why is taldren holding back on this game with limiting ships, weapons, and most important of all, races.

Can someone please post a link to the chris jones mod. i'd really like to try this

Right, I'd love to download this MOD. I think it's an asset that the game can be modded, not a shortfall from Taldren.

But I need a little help.

I can turn my computer on and off, and I've even managed to successfully modify some of my Meta-Assets so that Klingons and Feds aren't pals anymore.

I would be grateful if someone would post a step by step guide for people who are a bit unsure about how to download and run the mod properly (er, people like me), and how to make appropriate back ups.

Also, as I have the Hard Drive space, if anyone can talk me through installing the game a second time on my PC (to have my version that will play on Dynaverse, and my version that can be completely modded), I would be grateful.

Well you download the file (when you find it) and run it, it installs for you bar making sure its the right directory. Then you can only use the mods for the skirmishes but eh.

And Im glad you found my joke funnd, you didnt really think I thought it was a super virus did you

In all seriousness though, it was well worth the slow server waiting to download it, I can clearly sea a few minor problems with it and (seems its a beta) will do whatever I can to help with ironing out the problems.

Follow the instructions. Click the download link until you can get the file to download.

This is the basic Beta without the TNG Mega added content.

Once you have the mod downloaded, you need to unzip it. Once you unzip it, you merely click on the icon. It's installer will do the rest.

You will then have two modes of play. The original SFC3 with the added models, OR, if you go to your directory and click the DW exe file, you will have your game adapted so when you next start up SFC3, you will be playing with ALL the ships that I listed in my first post on this topic, which includes multiple Cardassian, and Dominion ships, as well as the new Romulan ships and designs and multiple other items for all the other races...and you can even play Ferengi if you really want to.

It doesn't have a readme before hand though to tell you that you need to unzip the file, and then click on it for the install program to start up.

Excessively cool mod. This is all you need to do to play the mod in all it's glory.

Here are some suggestions.

1. Install SFC3 a second time. Put it in another directory...something like

C:/Program/ Files/Taldren/SFC3

2. This gives you a clean install. It also leaves your original SFC3 file alone if you want it that way.

3. Next, install the Mod to the same directory like

C:/Program/ Files/Taldren/SFC3

4. That's it. Prepare to have your jaw drop in amazement!

I'm less certain about this link (if you notice it has an exe code in it...but it seems to merely be a webpage, but no promises, which is why I put it at the bottom and with a warning).

Hope this link works. I'm downloading this one right now to check it out, I was so impressed with the first one, I'm in total awe still. I'm checking out the bigger version. This final link is made ONLY for those with higher speed connections as it is slightly larger logging in at 150 megs.

If you already have the DW mod and want the Mega Mod addon, at around 50 megs, it makes it easier if you don't have a highspeed connection and the additional content (with installer of course) can be found here

I can't believe it, MAN!!!! Chris Jones(and the others that helped with models, etc) did an outstanding job on the DW Mod!!!!! Love the races, where you put them make sense, love the ships, it is just awesome!!!!!!!!

I too would love to see most of it made part of the retail(patched) game so everyone has it to play without worrying if modded or not!!!!!

I haven't DL'd this mod yet. I'm on dial-up and I'll wait until Chris is through with the normal updates so I only have to DL it once. I have quite a few of his SFC II mods though and, with those, he used batch files to swap between the mod and the original game. If he is doing the SFC3 mods the same way then you can just create shortcuts to them on your desktop and switch between the regular and modded games so you shouldn't have to back-up any files. Maybe someone who has the mod installed knows if it works the same way.

a D3 server for this might be difficult as the Rom slot is now Cardassian/Dominion - and I could not host it myself..

I am currently working on some of the UIs and damage textures.

The Single player Battlefest and Team assaults for Dominion will actually give you Dom or Cardassian ships in the final version.

and the Fed and Klink Campaigns should work too.

hope the patch doesn't stop up the works here, lol.
